That's hilarious.
Wonder if the seventh graders are grasping the intricacies of the 1 fist 2 fist offense or if Esh has instituted his patented "layup line" press on defense?

I really don't find that funny at all. The man gave his life to the Georgetown program and University as a player, student, assistant coach, and head coach. The situation didn't work out for him as a head coach. We have moved on. Its okay to criticize what happen over the course of past couple of years, but lets have some taste and class about it. Thats something Esherick had, and apparently what the person who wrote the asinine article lacks.

Not funny at all. I am shaking I am so mad. How dare this kid kick dirt on a fellow Hoya like that.
The number for the Georgetown Voice office is 202-678-6780. Call and give them a piece of your mind.

the_way, I don't like to keep rehashing the end of the esherick era, but I was seriously beginning to doubt his taste and class after some of the things he said immediately before he was fired. This may be a little too much, but its still kind of funny if you don't take it seriously at all.

THis is total garbage. What is the point in kicking a man while he's down. Esherick was a good man and person and doesn't deserve this cheap shot.
It's fine to criticize the guy if you thought he was a bad coach at the time. It comes with territory when you sign on to be a head coach, but after he's gone let's just let it go.
THis was childish and completely uncalled for. What exactly was the point?

Childish? Completely uncalled for?
Must be The Voice, once again covering itself in glory. Fine work as always, but don't you have an obscure band you could be writing about instead?

What an awful article. Sure, the dream of having the Hoya protege become the head coach didn't work out. Nevertheless, you'd think that at a place like Georgetown where the Jesuit tradition of "being a man or woman for others" is supposedly taught and lived that we would like a fellow Hoya - who tried - off the hook. You don't think he still feels bad? I'm sure he does. He wasn't the man for the job but that doesn't give us the right to mock his efforts after the fact. He is gone now, let's focus on the strong future this program has under JT3.

although i'm not sure the article is appropriate as has been mentioned it is the voice. i would not expect much else. however i did find myself chuckling as i read it. would probably be more appreciated a few years down the road when we are winning conference championships. i think the wound is still a little too raw for some people.

Jack is on the money -- the voice should be sending its cub reporters to the 9:30 club and have its editorial board polish their long articles on the merits of socialism.
Jackasses.

Classless and unnecessary. This sort of thing- as well as the Voice's call for liberal writers after the election to "counter the Bush admin" really take their legitimacy down like 25 notches.
Unbelieveable!

Yeah Minion, that was the first thing that struck me too. It wasn't very funny. They just made Esherick a junior high coach doing the same thing he did with Georgetown.
They had a lot to work with too. They could have made him a lawyer defending someone in a wrongful termination suit or something and let him be a little too sensitive about the case.
It's so on the nose that it's not very good.
As far as it being tasteless and uncalled for, that pretty much describes anything anyone does on a college campus so not a big deal. I'm much more ticked of when Ken Wright goes off because he's supposedly paid to do his job and not make it personal.

i don't care about bashing on esherick - he was a terrible coach and made himself a fool at the end of his tenure, but i agree with earlier posts that this is absolutely without any discernible funniness. I mean seriously, as a parody, this could be written by a 7th grader.
terrible forward by whoever started this thread...if i were admin i would revoke your posting privileges.
kidding, kinda.

Guys, it's the Voice. The real question here is why anyone read it.
Credibility of papers of campus 95-99:
1. Gonzo (2 years only) 2. Hoya 3. Thundermug (too much potty humor) 4. Voice
