Of course, you already know. We could have 100 Uvaldes happen. But, "Republicans" will point to this one as if it's the norm and the only mass shooting that's ever happened in this country. And 3 innocent people STILL died because a 20 year old guy had killing machine. Not a “good” outcome despite the fast response. The United States of America, 2022.

And so now we have a mass shooter in Indiana gunned down by a "good samaritan" with a gun. I can hardly wait to see in which direction this takes us.

Guess who won't see it that way? If only the teachers had their own guns in the classroom, they could have responded. After all, they're way better trained than the police to handle these situations, correct?

Shouldn't she be proud to bring a new life into the world? 10 is plenty old enough to be a mother. That's assuming, of course, that this actually occurred, and wasn't just left wing propaganda. Oh, wait, I guess that position didn't have much of a shelf life. Nor did attacking the doctor who performed the abortion.

Duke was very selective with who they contacted on Day 1 of the call period. The Blue Devils extended just one offer on June 15, 6-5 SG Tre Johnson (No. 2). Let’s go through the seven players who made contact with. 6-9 PF James Brown On3 Consensus: No. 20 Measurables: 6-9, 210 High School: Chicago (IL) St. Rita’s James Brown also had Illinois, North Carolina, Ole Miss, UCLA, UConn, Auburn, Iowa, Missouri, Marquette, Ohio State, BYU, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Harvard, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgetown, Oklahoma, etc. reach out on 6/15. 6-3 SG Boogie Fland On3 Consensus: No. 12 Measurables: 6-3, 165 High School: White Plains (NY) Archibishop Stepinac Boogie Fland also had Virginia Tech, Oregon, UConn, BYU, LSU, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Kansas, UCLA, Kentucky, Georgetown, St. John’s, TCU, Providence, Oklahoma, Michigan, Auburn, etc. reach out on 6/15. 6-8 F Drew McKenna (NR) On3 Consensus: NR Measurables: 6-8, 190 Baltimore (MD) Glenelg Country Drew McKenna also had Xavier, Virginia, DePaul, UConn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgetown, SMU, Illinois, Virginia Tech, George Mason, George Washington, etc. reach out on 6/15. www.on3.com/news/2024-prospects-duke-has-reached-out-to-in-the-open-contact-period/4-star James Brown (C) On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 30 St. Rita (IL) | Class of 2024 Which schools are recruiting you the hardest? Right now, I would say Howard, Illinois, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Missouri, and UCLA. What schools would you like to visit? Schools that I would love to visit that I haven’t visited yet would be Howard, North Carolina, UCLA, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Michigan, and Duke. Did you have a dream school growing up? I had a few dream schools growing up — Ohio State, North Carolina, North Carolina, Duke, and UCLA. Which college coach would you say you’ve formed the closest relationship with and why? I think I’ve gotten to the closest relationship with Coach (Anthony) Solomon from Notre Dame. I say this because he is always reaching out to talk to me whether it’s a phone call or text. I know anything he tells me is facts and the truth and that he looks at me more than a recruit that he is trying to get. But more like a family member and I really feel the love from him! Is there anybody you’d like to team up with in college or is anyone recruiting you to join them? There are a few people I wouldn’t mind teaming up with in college: Jeremy Fears, Liam McNeeley, Zay (Isaiah) Elohim, Boogie Fland, David Castillo, Ian Jackson and Morez Johnson. Me and Fears have talked about playing at Michigan State together. I’ve known him since like the 2nd grade. We’re both from IL and every time we play together it’s a problem for the other team lol. I’ve also talked about teaming up with my high school and AAU teammate Morez at U of I. Me and him together right now is already scary seeing us together under Brad Underwood in our home state would be a problem for the whole NCAA!!!! www.on3.com/news/top-prospects-go-on-record-about-their-recruitment/The hardest working man in basketball?

For those of you who don't frequent the "Front Page" - here is a tweet that links to a commentary on this topic: I guess, before Zuckerberg appropriated the term, you could say this post is meta. Interesting article, but I would note that Maryland and USC do have one thing in common. They both suck.

I don't think I have ever heard of someone given every advantage in life, and failed so badly at every level, than Jim Mora JR (UCLA alum here btw) Him becoming the HC at UCONN is the definition of water finding its level. I'd take Jim Jr. back over the current guy. Quite possibly the worst UCLA coaching hire ever.

I agree with Elvado on this. I don't hold it against the players if they want to go after the dollars, but I would be less uncomfortable if it weren't the Saudis sponsoring the new tour. That isn't a really good look for the players.
That said, I will miss seeing DJ, DeChambeau, Koepka, Patrick Reed and Kevin Na playing majors only on the tour, but I and the tour will survive.

Agreed Bigs. Not pointing out reality, just my wish list. Especially when it comes to the commitment to school. Harmon said the right things in the recruitment process about school mattering but that was garbage. You don't jump to the league as an undrafted freshman if school actually matters. It doesn’t appear that Ewing or GU think school matters for the basketball players so it seems like he picked the right place. And the Snark Award goes to hoya9797! Come on down, make your acceptance speech and pick up your trophy, which is a little boy sticking out his tongue while holding his thumb with an open palm against his nose.

To recap: hundreds and hundreds of children killed and hurt IN THEIR SCHOOLS, shoppers gunned down IN THEIR SUPERMARKETS, families killed and destroyed by gunfire AT A 4TH OF JULY PARADE, moviegoers murdered IN THEIR CINEMAS, concertgoers mowed down at AN OUTDOOR CONCERT, workers killed AT THEIR WORKPLACE, worshippers shot dead AT THEIR CHURCH, SYNAGOGUE, MOSQUE, commuters terrorized and wounded ON THE SUBWAY, people socializing murdered IN A NIGHT CLUB, countless others killed, wounded, lives changed forever IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS, CARS, HOMES, HIGHWAYS, HOSPITALS, BIRTHDAY PARTIES, FAMILY GATHERINGS, MALLS, SHOPPING CENTERS, FESTIVALS, IN AN AMBULANCE, HOTELS, AND PARKS. Since we're not going to do anything to create and enforce real gun safety that will save lives, let's concentrate on how the 2nd Amendment folks plan to protect our human lives -- IN EVERY F--KING PLACE WE GO LIKE EVERY DAY, EVERY WEEK. Tell me what to tell my kids when they're going out with friends so they have a whisper of a chance of surviving in the ever-more likely chance of violence and gunfire. I'll get you started: "O.K., listen. Be careful. Call us if you need a ride - doesn't matter how late. Don't get into anyone's car if they've had even one, o.k.? Be safe -- I love you. Oh, and..." GO 2ND AMENDMENT PEOPLE! What are the words - - come on -- you're always ready with something clever after a mass shooting. Whatta ya got? Let's go -- spill it. Sorry, what's that? Ah, just as I thought -- you got nothin'." O.K. -- this is when you admit to being ignorant, myopic, obsessed, self-righteous, and unwilling to care about others or even consider what your defense of guns is doing to folks all around you. Then sit down and contact your reps to tell them to get behind gun safety legislation because anything less is cowardly, callous, and soul-crushingly wrong. The defense is simple. Americans have a God-given right to any type of gun ever manufactured, and if you don't like it, you're a Commie wimp. More guns for everyone is the only solution. Thoughts and prayers to the collateral damage.

Odd that someone would have referred to these people as "deplorables." Once, again, a Democrat was FAR too diplomatic. America at its finest.

Hope there's no lasting issues with Mozone or Akok Akok. Particularly Mozone's absence potentially a red flag. Or maybe I'm just suspicious. Hilltop Hoops reported that he had another commitment and that the program knew about it. Mozone seemed to confirm as much in this IG post: http://instagr.am/p/Cfe8VpnAC2F He's wearing an AC/DC shirt. I just wore my AC/DC shirt yesterday. Maybe he'll shake us all night long. Hopefully it won't be another highway to hell.

It would be somewhat amusing to see Colorado return to the Big 12. Which schools have left a conference and then returned? Here's a few: Connecticut (Big East) Davidson (Southern, then eventually left for A10) VMI (Southern) Pacific (West Coast) UC-Santa Barbara (Big West) UAB (Conference USA football) East Tennessee (Southern football) Thanks for that interesting list. I'm not sure how I forgot about UConn, but that's not for all sports, is it?

A great American Independence Day to all, but especially to the people of Highland Park, Illinois. If all the people in the parade had only been armed with assault rifles, maybe this wouldn't have been quite so bad.

Georgetown men’s basketball APR for 2020-21 was recently shown to be 860, an alarmingly low number compared to other Georgetown University athletic programs, and across all NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball programs as a whole. How bad is that 860 number? Here is some context. Georgetown men’s basketball has the lowest APR out of all listed men’s sports at Georgetown. The next closest is men’s baseball, at 931. Come on, this was on the front page TWO WEEKS AGO. Just because it is posted by Aidan today does not suddenly make it news. www.hoyasaxa.com/sports/archives/archive0622.htm#3This may now be old news, and in fact I commented about it the day the story appeared on the front page, but to me, this can't be emphasized enough. It's a monumental embarrassment.

Yes, Hometown, I understand that, but "inaction by both sides" was not the alternative that was offered up. Inaction by both sides is nothing more than a repeat of what we saw after this season. That's far different from the coach insisting on remaining the head coach. Hey, you can't fire me, I'm Patrick Ewing, and I have the inalienable right to remain head coach for the term of my contract. This Supreme Court might find a way to support that position, but I don't know about anyone else. That's a strawman argument. My original post was that the program has 3 paths forward as far as our head coach goes: the admin fires him, he walks away, or he stays through the end of his contract. I understand that my usage of "insist" is throwing you off but that was to acknowledge that there will be tons of external pressure for action if Pat doesn't flip the script. My original point is that Pat is getting his money whether he's fired, fulfills his contract, or negotiates an exit which was in response to 9797 saying that Patrick would not leave without getting every penny. Eh, I don't think so. I didn't raise a straw man, I just took what you wrote at face value. You're the one who is moving the goal posts. But that's ok, because I agree with your new formulation. I think inaction, however you want to characterize it, is a decent possibility, and not a good one.
