While the money grab desertion by Suckacuse has diminished the importance and fever-pitch intensity of the rivalry, let us never forget. Manley Field House is officially closed. The 1981 BET held at Syracuse; Syracuse students stealing the banner of the DC radio station airing the Hoya games and parading it through the streets - only to have it rescued by BC fans(?!) "Ewing Can't Read" signs and a banana thrown against the back of the backboard while he was at the line. Michael Jackson dropping 31 as a freshman to win at the Dome. Pearl Washington hitting a go ahead jumper with 8 seconds left, only to have little Charles Smith dribble through all 5 Orangeboys to hit the buzzer teardrop over Rony Seikaly. The Michael Graham slap/punch after Andrew Hawkins barely missed Graham's face with a wild swinging elbow wrestling for a rebound in 1984 BET; Froggy Paparo initially ejects Graham, then reduces it to a technical, causing Boeheim to later throw a chair and storm out of post game presser. Ewing banging Pearl for rebound position in 1985 BET, Pearl then punches Patrick in the ribs and Patrick retaliation punch misses the mark. Pearl last second jumper beating Hoyas at the Dome in '85. Pops gets a technical from each of the 3 refs back-to-back- to-back during first half in 1990, waves arms to booing crowd as he leaves the court. Otto Porter drops 33 at the Dome in 2013 to spoil Derrick Coleman jersey raising celebration. Never Forget. Crush the Orange. Never forget: "Amin would allegedly talk about their plans with code words. 'Syracuse' meant 'Syria,' and 'basketball' meant 'jihad.'"

Reggie and the Miracles vs. Ohio State in the 1987 Sweet 16. Met my future in-laws that day for the first time, only to have them see me screaming at the TV as the Hoyas went down double digits at the half. I was in a much better mood after the comeback.

Recorded the game and just finished watching it.
In 55+ years of watching basketball, I've never seen a worse 15 seconds to start a game.
4 assists vs. 21 turnovers.
I'm afraid those who think we'll have 5 BE wins are dreaming.

Can’t lose any other gimmes. This loss was embarrassing. Outscored 22-10 in the last eight minutes. Here come the excuses.

What the Edited is that pass Looked to me like a 7’ former Hoya center infiltrated the huddle and called that play.

Probably because like Ighoefe (who is in the portal) they are 2nd time transfers and won't be eligible. Yes - some are not. That's not the point. There are places to rent in Tuscany, Bob Cobb. Nice maestro reference.

I think we have a worthy successor to Jeff Green’s mom.

Congrats Thomas. Can’t wait to see him on the hilltop Archbishop Ryan Basketball really needs to change its Twitter handle. I half-expected its players to look like the 1970s Boston Celtics.

I don't know who is most delusional about their chances of winning among the group of Kennedy, Christie and Pence. The difference is that Christie and Pence, whatever their faults, aren't whack jobs. I swear, RFK would be turning over in his grave if he knew what his son, not just any son, but the one named after him, was doing. We have a new leader in the delusional candidate race. Link

I think some people are overselling. Lol. Imo, he's not a high major player, and shouldn't be higher than 3rd string unless everything about his game from footwork to agility to instincts to offensive repertoire and beyond have improved. On a 2-18 team last year he was essentially 4th string behind a former player/manager. And from the leaked/rumored staff discussion with recruits this offseason - they would prefer not to even play him in a backup role. In 2003s case, he absolutely despises Ewing so there is a Little bit of that going on in terms of Hoping Mutombo dominates. Which doesn’t even make any sense because Ewing would have played his friends son as much as possible if Mutombo was any good. Don't even try to bring in the concept of sense when referring to Ewing's substitution patterns.

This looks to be something released for VHS tapes that recaps Georgetown's 82-83 season. That '83 season sort of gets lost in the shuffle because it was right after 1982 championship game and preceded the next 2 years where Georgetown was dominant. The video mentions that Georgetown actually started the 82-83 season ranked #2 in the country despite losing 3 seniors who got drafted into the NBA. We lost to American in 82-83 and won it all the following year. A good precedent.

Gee, Texas. I'm shocked! A man using an AR-15-style weapon shot and killed five of his neighbors, including an 8-year-old, at a Cleveland, Tex., home Friday night before a manhunt, the local sheriff said. Authorities charged Francisco Oropeza, 39, with five counts of murder and were searching for him Saturday morning, San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers told The Washington Post. Ten people were in the home during the shooting. Three women, a man and an 8-year-old boy were killed, Capers said. The suspect was the victims’ neighbor and went to their home Friday night after they asked him to stop shooting an AR-15-style rifle in his front yard because of the noise, Capers said. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2023/04/29/cleveland-texas-gunman-kills-five-8-year-old/US States and Territories - Intentional Murder Rates per 100,000 People: 1. If this is the rationale, doesn't pretty much everyone else have to go as well? This explanation is nonsense. If that were the reason, what took Fox so long to fire him? Because the best/most job security an employee in a large company can ever have is to be a key witness in a large litigation against the company.

Comparing a guy who had to redshirt to 3 HOFs. Love this place. A Jason Kidd who could shoot would only be the best point guard of all time.

Do you agree Dr. Biden’s husband won the 2020 presidential election? Your deflection is not amusing or productive. I believe anything that adds to the respect and recognition given to elite women athletes is productive and worthy, even if the effort is sometimes misguided. And I believe Reese needs to grow up a bit - stop the trash talk once the battle is won kid. It’s a terrible idea. Angel Reese may have made herself into a bit of a clown, but only the winners get to go to the White House. Iowa's Caitlin Clark says only LSU should visit White House

This takes Patrick Ewing's agency out completely, though. Clearly, Spears has a significant role in the way he played, but if Ewing did not like it, he should have taught him or instructed him to play different. One of two things is true - Ewing let him do it or Ewing instructed him not to do it, Spears did it anyway, and Ewing still played him 37 minutes a game. Either way, Ewing has culpability for failing kids like Spears. Not really, Ewing can be culpable without blaming everything under the sun on him. It’s pretty obvious that Spears style is ball dominant (10 dribble), score first, pass last mentality that has always been with him. That’s really hard to change. Kyrie Irving has been like that his whole career which is why he couldn’t coexist with LeBron and has had problems at every stop and now with Doncic in Dallas. That was a horrible trade by Cuban which will doom Dallas for years to come.As a Mavs season ticket holder, I couldn't agree more. If Kyrie signs elsewhere this offseason, which I assume he will, Cuban and the Mavs will have lost or given up from their 2022 conference finals team: Brunson - 2nd best player on that team Dimwiddie - 3rd best player on that team Finney-Smith - 4th best player on that team A #1 draft pick in return for ..... Absolutely nothing.
