They should reject any invite to the NIT if it were to come.

Why do people still talk about Thabeet going to the NBA? Transfering to get away from Calhoun I could see but the kid is worthless on the court. He seems to have three defensive modes, 1. Let a smaller player box him out and get around him 2. Don't even bother to defend a jump shot 3. Go for the block but goaltend about 4 times a game

Well, so far 3 games and no upsets (barring a big comeback by Providence). I was very torn on the SU/UConn game. I never want SU to win and if there was any chance of them being out of the NCAAs with a loss, that would have been great. However, I really would like a chance at a rematch with them. I know we have a big task ahead of us in beating Nova (although I am confident we will), but I still have to look ahead at that potential matchup. I guess SU has to avoid giving up another 200 points to ND in order for them to hold up their end though. Lots of tough teams out there- this is going to be a fun tournament to watch (barring another run by SU, that is).

Yep, looks like a formful first day. You can never entirely discount St. John's playing at the Garden, but I have a hard time seeing them beat Marquette without Hamilton.

as far as the conference is concerned, day could not have been better. Syracuse and WVU (and possibly even Nova) needed wins and they got them. All eight teams left have legitimate claims at NCAA tournament bids, making for a great three days of basketball. Hopefully the mountaineers (who i hate rooting for) can pick up a win against Louisville, thus assuring the conference of yet another record 8 bids.
edit: all this assuming Marquette takes care of business against St. Johns

Grab/point to where it hurts. We couldn't stop that one at all last Saturday.

Redmen just tied up marquette 45-45.
13:26 left though.
Edit: scratch that. Fitzgerald is lights out right now. He has 4 3 balls.

Miserable officiating here, and the really bad news is that Karl Hess has been spotted in MSG. I really do not want to see that man tomorrow. Hopefully he was also spotted at LaGuardia boarding a plane to Tampa.

In all seriousness, I am not sure that #3 belongs on the list. With Hoya Great Patrick Ewing as my witness, a few early goaltending plays can play huge dividends down the road. Intimidation has its merits as well. Personally, I never took that approach when I played. I just didn't think it was the smart strategy. That and the fact that I didn't want to hurt the other team's feelings. It has nothing to do with my 42 inch vertical jump ... oops, I meant my 4.2 inch vertical jump.

All that may be true, but with visions of farmers filling arenas dancing in their heads it will be tough for the NIT selection committee to turn the Huskies away.
