Am I missing something? ESPN headline for the recap of the Nova-DePaul game is "Reynolds sparks first-round Villanova rout of DePaul"
I never knew that 8 points was considered a rout, unless perhaps we're playing hockey or soccer.

I think they would definitely be sweating if they lose this game. Not so sure they're out, but I'd think they'd be firmly back on the bubble.

Oh they are wearing them. And they are stupid. They look ridiculous. With the lo-res on the office computer I thought Rautins was wearing a dress when the video finally loaded up.

According to Lunardi, who is more often than not right about this stuff:
Syracuse needs one win. DePaul needed two. Providence needs two. West Virginia needs one to two. St. John's and UConn would need to win the whole thing.

Those unis are hideous. And the jerseys with "Orange" scrawled across the front look like something you would use to teach a child basic lessons on colors ... wait, I might be onto something there.

I have a question about the Villanova/DePaul game. Prior to the final 40 seconds or so when DePaul clearly had to foul, it seems like DePaul was nevertheless fouling Villanova on every possession when all they needed was one or two defensive stops. Was the officiating fair, or was Nova the beneficiary of some cheap calls between the 4 and 1 minute marks?

If SUcks loses, their fate probably lies in the hands of the mid-majors. More upsets and they are in trouble. Win and they are in, IMO.

At least in the last couple of minutes, DePaul's fouls were intentional. But there were a ton of fouls called early, some of which were pretty bad.

Sorry, just realized that I clicked on the wrong thread before.
That Jerome Dyson is pretty talented, and if I heard right he's only a freshman. He and DaJuan might have some good battles in the next few years.

UConn's falling apart in the 2nd half. They had some really bad calls go against them, but they can't make a jump shot for anything right now.

Miserable officiating here, and the really bad news is that Karl Hess has been spotted in MSG. I really do not want to see that man tomorrow.

Really horrible, pro-'Cuse officiating. I hope this doesn't set the trend.

Man, I am so sick of Syr in the BET. This is three year's running of them just getting every lucky bounce, every good call, every good matchup. Man, I want them so bad on Friday. But, let's take care of bidness tomorrow against Nova.

Sickening to see Terrence Roberts argue a call after one finally went against Cuse after they got away with about 5-6 consecutive fouls. They pulled the same stunt against us (whining about the ONE call they didn't get) 2 weeks ago. I can't wait to pound them on Friday and pay them back for last year.
And yes, Hess and Burr are just atrocious. At least there's no chance we'll see Timmy this weekend.

Just checked the stats from Cuse-Uconn on espn.com and saw the following:
With 7 minutes left, Syracuse 3-pointers - 8/18 (44%) FTs - 8/17 (47%)
Something is going wrong when your FT shooting is approaching your 3 point shooting.

Will UCon get an invitation to the NIT? Will Calhoun accept it or will he pull an Esherick? Couldn't happen to a better guy!

UConn satisifies all the criteria: better than .500 record and school which will put fannies in the seats wherever they play (as long as it is in the northeast). Calhoun needs to get those guys as many games as possible - though who knows if it will actually help them develop.

Calhoun needs to get those guys as many games as possible - though who knows if it will actually help them develop. While in the past the above mentioned criteria would certainly earn UCon an NIT invite, I believe the game has changed a bit since the NCAA bought the NIT. There are now only 32 bids to the NIT, and regular season conference champs who lose in their conference tourney and do not make the NCAA field are auto-bids to the NIT. NIT-ology currently has UCon on the outside looking into the NIT: tcaa.puretecmo.com/nit06.html
