A couple of thoughts on the court-storming: 1. Can you a-holes at least wait until the game is over? Fans were well inside the lines with between 2 and 3 seconds left in the game. They should have called a T and made everybody go back.

this is not accurate, we stormed the court vs cuse after a comeback win on Feb 7th, 1994 60-56. it is a compliment to have the court stormed when you lose and it should never be off limits with your biggest rival. Does anyone know when the last time someone stormed the court after beating us? i cant remember it happening at all but maybe i have blocked it out of my memory.

No one ever rushed the court beating an Esherick-coached team, because no one considered that an accomplishment.

it is a compliment to have the court stormed when you lose and it should never be off limits with your biggest rival. I'm with you here...my away message yesterday was a quote from a post I made on the old Hoyatalk board back in January 2002 the night we beat Cuse and stormed the court. Some people on the board thought it was lame to do so. I said all bets were off, "This is different. This is Syracuse." I think it only adds to/confirms the rivalry between the schools that a) students see it as worthy of rushing the court, b) it makes the other team's fans (me included) so goshdarned angry. Put it this way...if the 100 or so USF students in the Sun Dome had tried to rush the court last year after beating us (a ranked team) for their only conference win of the year in their final game of the year, I doubt any of us (again, myself included) would have been all hot and bothered. If the opponent last night was another Big East bubble team on a Senior Night--say we'd lost at DePaul or Providence for example--I doubt it would have been as big a deal. But the rivalry adds an extra something (a LOT of extra something) that gets your blod boiling over stuff like that. Same way that everyone in the room at me cursed at the 2006 BET highlights they showed twice last night. I hate losing, hate seeing Cuse fans storm the court...but I like that the rivalry does that to people.

I was actually thinking about it (slow day at work). I need to go home and watch my tape of the game to verify, BUT: I seem to remember St. John's fans storming the court at MSG after they beat us to win the 2003 NIT. I have this image of Marcus Hatten being mobbed by a bunch of students.
