How could you not put this on the coach? An inspiring speech was missing somewhere in there... Hey town05, go back home to your life partner, Craig Esherick. Seriously, the people putting this on III are the biggest fairweather fans I have ever seen. I knew that I risked seeing outrageous negativity signing on to HoyaTalk tonight, but this is totally out of line. You guys are seriously blaming the coach who inherited a team that had one-way ticket to perennial irrelevance and embarrassment and in his 3rd year took it to a program record tying win streak against BE opponents? The same coach who took a group of awful guards [if this wasn't typed and was spoken, you'd note the irony there) and made them an integral part of the best shooting team in the BE? The same coach who, two days ago, led his team to the FREAKING TOP OF THE BIG EAST!!!!!!? So we lost! Not one person out there can honestly say that they didn't think that this was going to be a very tough game...traveling up to Little Canada on two days of rest after a huge yet extremely draining win? Oh, and anyone who tried to travel through the snow/freezing rain yesterday can tell you that travel was pretty draining this weekend. The guys were understandably tired, and it resulted in a lot of cold shooting and sloppiness. Calling this a massive coaching mistake is just a load of crap. There were clearly a lot of negatives that should be addressed, but guess who's going to deal with them in an extremely efficient and productive message...JOHN THOMPSON III!!!!! Our coach...in whom you all profess to have loads of confidence when things are going well, but whose abilities are immediately called into question as soon as the Hoyas have a hiccup. Some of you are persistently negative with no reason, and some of you are too weak to support the team after a loss. Next time you feel the urge to post this junk after a loss, take it where it will be appreciated...the SUcks board.

Season = 52.2% Tonight = 29.8%
The coach doesn't shoot. We did look out of our element, though. Oh yeah: and the refs sucked.

JTIII according to these boards this morning: genius JTIII now: fool
give me a break....he's deserves nothing but credit for what this team has accomplished and one bad shooting night does nothing to change that

Don't let the knee-jerk reactionaries set the tone here. This game is done. There are lessons to be learned. The guys and coaches understand that. We're back on Saturday. Hungry.

I think JTIII is great. But the last ten minutes of tonight's game we just looked confused. When that happens you look to the COACH to get them in-line. I'm not throwing rocks at him, just saying it seems like he has potential to inspire in those moments and tonight he was off.
bubbarubba, Escherick and gay comment in your post? come on... learn how to roll with the adults. Clean it up. Typical you're a gator fan.

JTIII according to these boards this morning: genius JTIII now: fool give me a break....he's deserves nothing but credit for what this team has accomplished and one bad shooting night does nothing to change that thank you! we were tired! We shot so poorly it was unbelievable. How many open 3 pointers did Jessie miss from the wing? I lost track. Even Dajuan wasn't hitting. Oh and if Roy picks up 2 quick fouls at the beginning of the game on ticky-tack calls against UCONN I might walk straight up to the ref and review how being 7-2 doesn't mean you automatically foul everyone on the court. Our players were getting mugged all game.

We better come out hard on Saturday against UCONN and get the win. JT III got out coached tonight. Not good. They better get their stuff together. Yeah, I especially like how JT3 coached our guys to miss open jumpers, get the rebounds and then miss the putbacks, while Boeheim was almost perfect in coaching his team to make their 3s. Pure and simple, a bad shooting game. I'd have Summers, Sapp and Wallace shoot a few hundred jumpers a day until saturday. If they regain their form, we'll win by 10 or more.

Typical you're a gator fan. how can a team that has DESTROYED zone D's more than a few times this season all of a sudden be confused? in my opinion, they werent confused, they were overwhelmed by a situation they have never faced as underclassmen who do not have a single senior to lean on or follow his lead/demeanor in a game of this magnitude in a very hostile environment

Last time I felt this bad was after the ugly loss to 'Nova. Then I remembered that it was on January 8. The last Hoya season that I went from January 8 until February 26 feeling sick after a loss? None I can remember.
It was a bad loss in an otherwise good season. I think it was an aberration, and the team will show up on Saturday after some practice and some rest.

I'm pretty confident in our three three-year starters' leadership abilities.

Not gonna criticize the court rush. We rushed after we beat a ranked cuse team by double digits in '02. The security for the players... now that can be criticized.
Tonight was a "hit the reset button on the playstation" kind of game. Must have been a computer glitch. Theres no way that a team this talented shoots THAT poorly. An aberration. Nuff said.
I only wish Tyler had gotten his money's worth on his technical with Devendorf.
