What I'd like to see --
1. A decisive win
2. Sorber/Julius/Fielder touching the ball on most possessions -- the beginning of finding an open outside shooter. Good ball and off-ball movement.
3. Defensive hunger, focus, communication

GAMEDAY!!
Let's get this back on track after the disappointing performance against ND. We all knew we're still a work in progress so it's time to take 2 steps forward. Let's see some ball movement, some nice sets (maybe clean up the PnR), and make some damn shots.

Being facetious, and I’ll be there watching at 8:30, but tough to blame others for lacking enthusiasm to tune in tonight after Saturday’s performance felt like it let the air out of the balloon.

Local connection of some note (gotta find something of interest to remain engaged): Mt. St. Mary grad student/projected starting guard 6-2 Xavier Lipscomb was the Player of the Year in 2019-2020 for St. Stephen’s/St.Agnes, which won the IAC and I think was second to Paul VI in state private school tournament. Were invited to be the first non-Catholic school to play in the now -defunct Alhambra Tournament that got Covided out. X was a tough player who got by mostly on grit and defense (not sure if the Mount presses but if they do this kid will lead the assault). Didn’t play in game against Hoyas last year due to injured foot

As a relatively recent Catholic grad not from Maryland, I had to look up where exactly in the state is. I’m not sure how Mount St Mary’s would be a known school to the average Georgetown student today especially when said school’s undergrad population is smaller than my high school. |
