Wednesday, November 6th at 7pm on FS2
It has been a long wait but it is almost here.
Lehigh plays Northwestern on Monday but that game does not appear to be televised (that I can tell).

NW Lehigh is on Peacock tomorrow night. I hope we win by 20+ Obviously we have to win this game and winning it by a lot would be comforting. But how we win will be important. Do we play a truly aggressive defense? Do we protect the 3 point line, i.e. do we significantly reduce the number of wide open 3s? Do we crash the boards especially against what I expect will be a much smaller team? Do we share the ball and have 15+ assists? My point is that winning by 25 points against a team that really stinks (i.e. misses a lot of wide open 3s, bunnies, and unforced turnovers) won't say a lot about our chances this season.

7 guys on their roster are 6'8" or taller. So it shouldn't be a mismatch based on size.

Can we just show up to McDonough and get in? Nope, you had to receive an invite (I did as season tix holder and perfect attendance last season, reserved courtside seats) and students limited to 1,250 for T shirt giveaway. Lehigh and Wagner game, also at McDonough, not part of season ticket package.

I would hope they have enough sense to fill the side that the camera faces first since they are limiting attendance.

Watched the game and it will just raise my expectations for what the Hoyas need to do tomorrow. Lehigh was a very poor shooting team particularly from deep. Northwestern dominated the boards and was missing a key player from what the broadcasters said. First half was a blowout but Lehigh played much better in the second half after Northwestern had taken its foot off the gas. If the Hoyas are as talented as advertised then this game should not be close particularly given the results of the scrimmages. I know teams improve--sometimes dramatically-- from Game 1 to Game 2 but if the Hoyas play this game close it will be a major disappointment.

I know teams improve--sometimes dramatically-- from Game 1 to Game 2 but if the Hoyas play this game close it will be a major disappointment. I am looking for a fairly big win, but shooting is pretty erratic for every team and I imagine especially so early season. They shot 12% from 3; they aren't likely to repeat that. They weren't a good three point shooting team last year, but they did shoot around 33%. That said, Northwestern dominated the boards -- Lehigh doesn't play a lot of its taller players much -- and pretty much had their way near the rim. We should be able to replicate that, and it should play well into our lack of outside shooting.

I think this makes sense to start the season especially against weaker opponents. Give Fielder the starting spot on day 1 and see what he can do as he stuck with us in the offseason. Likely move him to the 5 when Thomas needs a break and that’s when Burks comes in. Things will be more set once Julius comes back to full health.
I don't know about (the younger?) Williams being the first wing off the bench, but it’s interesting Mulready might be the first guard up.
