Apparently, Cooley plans to use Peavy as the 3rd PG per Rothstein.
Starting line-up projection : Mack, Epps, Peavy, Burks, Sorber.

Other wildcards are: newcomer Drew McKenna, newcomer Caleb Williams, forced-to-play-most-of-his-minutes-at-Center PF Drew Fielder, newcomer Kayvaun Mulready, newcomer Thomas Sorber, will-he-be-restrained Jayden “Pistol” Epps, and BE newcomer Malik Mack.

At this point, everyone is a wildcard except Jayden Epps. My exception is Peavy. Great shot at making one of the post-season BE all-conf teams (because of the available pt): Sorber, Epps and one of Fielder/Peavy/Mack.

There are any number of potential starters and/or line-up configurations with this team. We do know what Epps is, for better and worse. But we do not know how he will decide to play this year. Peavy is a known commodity but we do not know how Cooley will use him (point guard? Do we need to have both Mack and Epps playing off of the ball? Fielder is a known and valuable commodity but, again, how will he be used? Mack was a good Ivy League player. We'll see how that translates. Everyone else either is a high school recruit....or one year removed from that with little playing time.
Should be interesting, if nothing else.

During his video interview, Mack gave us a hint on what Cooley is thinking about Mack and Epps playing together by saying something like Epps and Mack “will do their thing”, other teams will have to “pick their poison”, both can “score and facilitate”, which sounded like they both could play off each other and a lot together. Jump to 15:44 I doubt many teams double off of either Mack or Epps during the year so I’m not sure what he means by pick your poison with the two of them… Reading that MP will play the lead spot indicates to me they’re not sold on KM playing much this season. P.S. - Cooley really needs to do an in depth presser, I’m truly shocked he’s been this bad on that front

He's the PG when Epps and Mack are both out. I took it to mean he'd use Peavy as the lead even if both are on the floor which tells me that he views Peavy as a ball mover for sure & maybe both Epps & Mack are more scorers than ball movers.

Oh, now I see the other quote -- yeah. I guess so. Interesting. But I don't think that sounds like a permanent thing.

I think it is another look to experiment with. Perhaps Mack and Epps are both very strong off the ball. Perhaps what is gained with Mack and Epps off the ball is greater than what is lost with Peavy in a distributor role.

For those like me who worry about depth at big....here is a EC quote from Rothstein's article
there’s not going to be a lot of people in America that can defend multiple positions the way that Micah Peavy (TCU) can. He’s an elite, elite defender that can defend five positions. He’s a multipositional defender and a multipositional offensive player. We’ll play him at the one, the two, the three, and the four. He adds a lot.
Peavy may be a 5 defensively of last resort.
