Apparently Dixon is a serious student. i read that he has 2 degrees and this season he started work on his MBA. Did he redshirt? I guess he gets the extra Covid year and then maybe a redshirt year.

There are 25 people in the whole arena. Chris Holtmann in basketball Siberia. How the mighty have fallen.

That said, if Georgetown played an exhibition with Salisbury State on a Sunday night at Capital One Arena, really, how many would show up?

There are a lot of coaches around the world who wish they could fall like he has. 1.5 million per at DePaul and Ohio State still owes him roughly 9 million and he's 1 of 11 head coaches in a great basketball conference. If he's able to resurrect a program that has consistently been at the very bottom of the BE to just even mid pack, he'll be viewed as a savior in Chicago.

How did we miss this? I checked other threads and I didn't see an mention of this scrimmage. Admittedly I am semi-retired when it comes to probing the internet for any morsel of information, but I am amazed this wasn't picked up by someone else. And my cynical side tells me that if Seton Hall had beaten Maryland by that score it would have been posted in order to cast doubt on the prospects for the Hoyas this coming season. Folks would have tossed out the Hoyas scrimmage win against the Terps by pointing out that not only had SH beaten them too, but that the Pirates had done so more convincingly based on the final score.
And speaking on Seton Hall, on the free part of its Rivals message board following the loss to the Terps, one member said he was told by someone in the know that the Hoyas wiped the floor with the Terps in their scrimmage and that the score only got closer when Georgetown put in its subs. Is this true? Who knows? I thought it was interesting enough to share.

But I thought is was pretty clearly reported that we were up on Maryland by something like 18 before they closed it at the end. Whether that is wiping the floor given the dynamics of scrimmages is something else -- I would not put a ton of stock in that. That said, I don't see why we couldn't be better than a Kadary Richardson-less Seton Hall this year. Of course, I also could see why could be worse.

The thing is people on this board would put stock in anything negative reported about Gtown in scrimmage games. We at best hedge our bets though if positive news trickle out.

Very, very few conference wins over too many years does that. True. But let’s put it on record that this is the leading reason why such negativity and disbelief continues to take root at the beginning of each season.

Remember that this staff and the last staff lied in the preseason talking big. Then we learned later they were telling a bunch of people how bad the team actually was. So fans got their hopes up only to be let down…bigly. So, there is some not unreasonable skepticism until we see something different with our own eyes.

I thought we were getting the best shooting team Cooley had coaches because he mentioned something along those lines. Not a stretch when Providence under Cooley wasn’t known for great shooting…

Ed's relationship with you (and me, and everyone outside his coaching staff) is cheerleader and fundraiser. He's not having a conversation with you.

He has been a lot quieter this year…which i think was prudent. He did a really poor job IMHO of setting expectations post-hire.
