K State throwing Tomlin under the bus by citing Title IX and Tomlin's "entire history of a student athlete's behavior." "This decision was not made lightly by me, but it is the decision warranted by the circumstances that brought it to bear." University president Richard Linton released a follow-up statement on Friday, addressing some of the decision-making process behind Tomlin's dismissal. "The NCAA Board of Governors has required each member institution to adopt a 'serious misconduct policy' covering a number of potential allegations, including Title IX," Linton said. "Under the university's serious misconduct policy, the university president is involved in collaboration with the athletic director and head coach when making a final decision concerning a student-athlete's conduct and team membership. "The decision to release Nae'Qwan from the men's basketball team was made in full compliance with all applicable policies. When decisions like this are made, a range of factors are considered, including the entire history of a student athlete's behavior. "The reporting that this decision was made solely due to an incident at a bar in Aggieville is not accurate." www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39071861/naeqwan-tomlin-enters-portal-2-days-kansas-state-release

Good thing he is getting exposed by the K state students and staff.

Nae’Qwan Tomlin has many suitors. The former Kansas State forward has plenty of options to choose from if he decides to finish out his college basketball career. In addition to the shortlist I outlined yesterday, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, McNeese, Memphis, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Pitt and a handful of others have expressed interest or at least inquired about adding Tomlin to their roster in January.
Tomlin is essentially a 6’10” wing. He’s extremely athletic, can handle the ball and is working on developing a more consistent three-point shot. He spent some time on NBA draft boards last year, but decided to come back to school after going through the process and getting feedback on his game. The obvious road block right now is the background check. Are teams willing to deal with whatever it is for three months? Based on the interest level he’s receiving right now, the answer appears to be yes. Not many teams will pass up an opportunity to add a potential draft pick in the middle of the season, especially if you’re a fringe title contender. Once Tomlin graduates and enters the portal, things will move quickly.

Akok laid the blueprint for the graduating free agency. Cooley saved our NIL money and scholarships last spring Hopefully for exactly this reason.

Hopefully he saved it for the Spring of 2024 to spend on impact guys to supplement Sorber, Mulready, McKenna, and Williams with some upperclass leadership and not to blow on the difference between 5-15 and 9-11.

He’s a fine player I just don’t see him changing the trajectory of this team. He’s probably going to spend his last semester proving to the NBA he’s a 3 point shooter since that’s been the weakest part of his game. He would essentially be send Ish to the bench and if he didn’t buy in hurting the offense. Just doesn’t seem worth it for multiple reasons.

Not a surprise, but no Gtown for Tomlin. Wants to be the final piece of a contender and get a huge NIL deal. Don't blame the kid at all - he's a hot commodity with no competition. burnerball.com/off-the-burner-12-11-23/

No way - he wants lots of money & a competitive team for his last semester of college ball? Who would've thought?

Word is that Tomlin is on a plane to Toronto as we speak. #Done Deal.

Good get for Penny. How are they structuring the deal, straight NIL, a loan he won’t have to repay, or a charitable donation?
