Thanks. IIRC Ryan mentioned he was planning to graduate early?

Like Akok Akok, it's possible Supreme Cook could still earn a degree doing credits at Georgetown--it'd just be a Fairfield degree, not Georgetown. Of course, that would be up to Fairfield, but I don't know how they deal with things like that. I believe this is the status of our (scholarship) roster AFTER this year: - Dontrez Styles - 1 more year to play; already used no-sit transfer. - Rowan Brumbaugh - 3 more years to play; already used no-sit transfer. - Jayden Epps - 2 more years to play; already used no-sit transfer. - Ryan Mutombo - 1 more year to play; could use no-sit transfer. - Supreme Cook - 1 more year to play (COVID year); already used no-sit transfer; apparently has not graduated. - Wayne Bristol, Jr. - Because of COVID year, he seems to have 2 years left. He transferred already, but I am not sure he actually used the no-sit transfer, since I am not sure the rule existed yet, as he sat out for a year before enrolling at Georgetown mid-year. - Drew Fielder - 3 more years to play; could use no-sit transfer. Not eligible after this year: Jay Heath, Ismael Massoud, Cam Bacote (if he's even scholarship) So as of today, the roster next year is Styles, Brumbaugh, Epps, Mutombo, Cook, Bristol, Fielder, McKenna (apparently enrolling mid-year), Sorber, Mulready, Williams. I know we are all shell-shocked by Ewing constantly losing half the roster, but Cooley seems like the type of guy that will retain people and basically everybody is going to get playing time this year. I think we have a great shot at 100% retention, actually.

Yes--my bad, I'll fix my post. Styles has one year after this one.

My favorite thing about yesterday. You could tell from the tweet showing video of the coaches handling these out in the locker room last night that this is gonna be a fun thing that the kids get into and compete for.

Really great to see the team again and feel some optimism about the future. Hoyas had an advantage in the front court and they decided to utilize it. Such a simple coaching strategy that seems to have eluded us for some time.
Epps is faster and a better ball distributor than I expected. Brumbaugh showed promise. I loved the unselfish style they displayed and the active defense. Cook was fantastic and I can’t wait to see him match up against tougher opponents. Hoya saxa!

The only players eligible to play right away next season if they transfer are Ryan, Drew & Wayne. Both Drew & Wayne will see a lot of PT this and next year so I doubt very much they transfer. Your point is correct for CBB overall but for Gtown the roster makeup is very solid for next season as it stands right now. Wayne transferred from Howard so I believe that disqualifies him. But Supreme may be able to make that move. Regardless all those guys, with the possible exception of Ryan, should be satisfied with the minutes they get this season. My bad, I thought Bristol transferred in before the transfer rules went into effect.

Best assist of the game -- even better than the Heath off the glass to a trailing Fielder for an authoritative slam -- is the brilliant Epps assist from behind the midcourt line putting a crisp, perfectly placed pass in the hands of Styles in the right corner as he set and launched a beautiful 3 that caught nothing but net as the clock ran down its final second of the first half. If you can, go back & watch it. It's as close to perfect as you can get for a length of the court possession in 4.2 seconds and scoring.

For just a moment you could tell that Bristol actually contemplated jumping BACK over the same kid to get back to the court, then thought better of it. Now that would have been classic.

Agree with everyone who mentioned that it was nice to see the ball movement. Making the extra pass, and the effort on defense. The other thing I appreciated is how we exploited a mismatch down low and doing so within the flow of the offense. It sure how many more times we will be in that situation this year…but still nice to see.

LeMoyne plays Villanova Friday, so on a relative basis, we can quickly get a gauge on how we stack up somewhat. Villanova 83 LeMoyne 57 Georgetown 94 LeMoyne 57

Everyone except health and massoud should be back next year. Sorry but that isn't reality in today's college basketball. Sadly, every team should expect a couple of transfers every year. Was at the game last night and it was nice to leave the arena with a happy heart. I like the team's direction and some of the players look like they will be important parts of our return to high level competition. The future looks bright. Yeah I was more referring to the ability to come back. We won’t lose as many to the portal as we did under Ewing but we could easily lose 1-2

This defense has not been great so far. Guys are getting beat way too easy off the dribble and way too much space on shooters. LeMoyne can't make us pay. They can't even make a layup. Hope they figure it out. The warning signs were there in game 1 for anyone that says the potentially bad defense was a surprise as the season went on. You just have to know what to look for. It's safe to say they didn't figure it out.

Maybe the warning signs were there but I was fully expecting Cooley to right the ship to some degree on the defensive end...no excuses next year...the defense has to be significantly better...
