"Four-star C Patrick Ngongba (Team Takeover) is leading the Nike EYBL session in rebounding with eight per game. On Saturday he averaged 14.0 points and 10.0 rebounds. Ngongba is turning into one of the better post presences in the class." www.on3.com/news/nike-eybl-session-1-top-performers-day-2/“Kansas State, Iowa, Providence and San Diego have all been consistent with me. Florida, Virginia Tech and the new Georgetown staff have all reached out to me recently.” There are no visits currently planned for Ngongba, but when he does take his officials, he knows what he’ll be looking for in a program. “I want to go to a school where I can develop for the next level and definitely a place where I can get a good education.” prephoops.com/2023/04/2024-pat-ngongba-talks-recruitment-eybl-session-i/

"7. Four-star C Patrick Ngongba – Team Takeover The rebounding is what you take away with Patrick Ngongba. He has a strong frame, with long arms and good size. But he tracks the basketball as well as anyone else in the gym. Ngongba comes from a basketball family, as his mom starred at George Washington. He came into the final day leading the Nike EYBL session in rebounding. He has strong hands and does his work early in the possession. Ngongba also did a good job carving out space on the offensive end, finishing with both hands and absorbing contact. He’s taken a lone official visit to Kansas State. Jerome Tang and multiple assistants were at his games this weekend." www.on3.com/news/nike-eybl-session-one-top-performers-day-3/

The idea Georgetown can "put up a wall" around the WCAC and the area and get every 5 star kid is silly, but a local 4 star guy who is considering Iowa and Kansas State has to be the type of recruiting battle we can win.

Plus this kid's mom works at Georgetown and his cousin is Isaiah Abraham, another top 100 guy in the class of 2024. Both should be high priorities for Cooley & staff.

I don't disagree with anything above...is he better than Sorber? I realize it's very early in the process but seems like we are in really good position for Sorber and both kids are only Centers and neither can slide to the 4...

If it's close between the two, I'd prioritize the WCAC kid who plays for powerful local high school and AAU programs over the kid from Pennsylvania, especially if the goal is to heavily recruit the DMV.

In the VISAA finals Patrick dominated Vanderbilt commit Carter Lang. In addition to rebounding, he's a rim protector.
Lot of room to grow an already decent frame.
Both his mom and dad played at GW. His mom is all time leading scorer - over 2,000 points.

His mother is not on the new staff at Georgetown, to my knowledge, so she is no longer a GU employee.

"2024 Jaeden Mustaf (Carmel Christian): What you must like about Mustaf’s game is his overall impact on the court; he plays and does so much on the floor for his team. We have spoken about his ability to get downhill and no one is slowing him down when he gets to the basket. But he is also tremendous in transition in pushing the pace, looking to make plays for others, his impact on the boards, and his relentless impact on the defensive end in blocking shots and locking up defenders. He filled it up on both ends and it is easy to see he is such a target for many." phenomhoopreport.com/pobs-best-of-the-best-phenom-holiday-classic/"The 6-foot-4 combo guard picked up where he left off last summer dominating the adidas 3SSB by obliterating the competition in the EYBL. His best game was a 30-point outing in a loss to the NH Lightning (N.Y.). Mustaf went 9-of-14 from the floor and 12-of-15 from the free-throw line and was nearly impossible to keep out of the lane all weekend. He always commands the tempo and controls the flow in the halfcourt sets." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/nike-eybl-ten-prospects-that-turned-heads-in-atlanta

Sorber is a stud. Hope the buzz on him is true and we are positioned well. I like Abraham a lot more than McKenna. I’ve never been impressed with McKenna.

These are the types of recruits I really want to see Cooley and Co. get. The idea Georgetown can "put up a wall" around the WCAC and the area and get every 5 star kid is silly, but a local 4 star guy who is considering Iowa and Kansas State has to be the type of recruiting battle we can win. "The coaches came to my school," Ngongba said. "Coach Straughn and coach Autry came up. We sat down, they showed me a couple videos on what Syracuse is about, the history of Syracuse and all that. They were telling me that they saw me play last summer and they came to my school once in the fall and watched an open gym. They were saying I made so much improvement and they liked my dedication to the game. Basically just gave me the scholarship right after that... Ngongba does not have any visits scheduled for this summer yet, but says Syracuse is a school he "definitely" wants to see. "I would like to see how the players interact with the coaches," Ngongba said. "See how that connection is. I would want a family environment." www.si.com/college/syracuse/recruiting/patrick-ngongba-surprised-by-syracuse-offer
