Get this kid. Just not sure how him and sorber would fit together Sorber reclass to '23 and Queen a clear class of '24 kid. You get these two kinds of talents, you find a way to make it fit - they'd be a great duo and Cook is an ideal dirty work guy alongside them. I think UConn just won it all with Sonogo and Clingan. I am pretty sure it can be done.

Keeping my fingers crossed. If he didn't/doesn't commit on his visit, he likely won't.

Keeping my fingers crossed. If he didn't/doesn't commit on his visit, he likely won't. Recruits rarely commit on unofficial visits. In fact the vast majority of recruits don’t commit on the visit itself. Regardless he’s still a long shot for us and likely more of an exploratory thing for the staff than anything.

Any updates on DQ? He won't be short on offers after a great summer. Just wondering where we stand, if we even have a cance.

"Stock Risers: Five centers that made the most of grassroots season... The last year has been good to Queen, who possesses a newfound level of explosiveness and aggression since reshaping his body and dropping some bad weight. He’s been one of the more dominant centers in the country over the last nine months or so and averaged 19.5 PPG, 10.7 RPG and 3.0 APG on the Under Armour circuit this season. Queen has long been a force in the block because of his build and reliable hands and he's become a more consistent mid-range shooter and motivated defender this year. His offensive efficiency has also gotten better with his new, more athletic frame. Queen moved up 21 spots to No. 19 in the last ranking and will likely inch a little closer to the top 10 next time around. Recruitment: Maryland, Indiana and Kansas are among the key players in Queen’s recruitment." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/stock-risers-five-centers-that-made-the-most-of-grassroots-season

Not sure where Queen stands in terms of his high school credit situation, but any talk of him actually going to Georgetown (and the recent interest there between the 2 sides, even if it's slim) has been under the assumption that he'd do a reclass into 2023. Georgetown obviously has the space in their front court even more now.

"Five key visits to watch in the coming weeks... LIAM MCNEELEY, DERIK QUEEN AND CURTIS GIVENS VISITING INDIANA Talk about pressure! Mike Woodson will have his work cut out for him come Sept. 8 when he hosts three of the top prospects in the country, who just happen to be teammates on what will most likely be the top high school basketball team in the country. On the one hand, said pressure should subside knowing that the teammates love the idea of teaming up at the next level, hence the scheduling collaboration. Still, knocking it out of the park on interactions, presentations and vibe is no easy feat, especially when you know parents and players are having backchannel conversations/critiques real time. If Woodson can make the sell stick, he could be looking at potentially a top-three recruiting class." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/five-key-visits-to-watch-in-the-coming-weeks

"Latest intel on the top 15 undecided players in the class of 2024... DERIK QUEEN, C, MONTVERDE (FLA.) ACADEMY Currently ranked: No. 7 Who is in the mix: Houston, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas and Maryland. Latest intel: A native of Baltimore who is coming off of a strong summer run with Team Thrill in the Under Armour Association, 6-foot-9 big man Derik Queen doesn’t give away much about what he’s really thinking when interviewed, but there do seem to be some pretty good signs of where his recruitment is headed. Or at least that was the way it seemed until Queen somewhat unexpectedly set up an official visit for Kansas this weekend. To recap, Queen did drop by Georgetown during the summer and new coach Ed Cooley has made some inroads, but the real players prior to setting the Kansas visit looked to be Houston, Indiana and Maryland. While no date has been set for a return visit to Maryland, the Terps are expected to get an official visit in the near future, and Kevin Willard and his staff were very visible whenever Queen played during live periods. Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers already have a date for Queen’s second trip to Bloomington (Sept. 8) and they’ve invested their fair share of time as well. While a date isn’t set for Houston yet, keep a close eye on the Cougars. While most of the talk in the summer was about the Terps and Hoosiers, Kelvin Sampson and his staff are right there in the thick of it. But now, we've got to include Kansas in all of this. While it seems that the Jayhawks would be a long shot after already landing five-star big man Flory Bidunga, Bill Self and has staff have been planning all along to try and land two bigs and you never want to count a guy like Self out." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/longformarticle/college-basketball-recruiting-cooper-flagg-dylan-harper-tre-johnson-derik-queen-karter-knox-liam-mcneeley-jayden-quaintance-latest-intel-214429728/#2217663

Given that it's September 1 and he's planning to make several more visits this month, the pipe dream of Queen reclassing and joining the 2023 Hoyas can be put to bed. As usual, Cooley was used as an initial visit to start the bidding (see Dickinson, Hunter and Spencer, Cam) and now Queen is going to get real money from places like Kansas, Indiana, Houston or Maryland.

That is one very skeptical way to view it.

I suppose an all knowing Coach Boya would have refused a visit by Queen because it was a longshot???
