"Per a recent article by Dylan Lutey on zagsblog.com, fellow Atlantic Coast Conference team and blue-blood program Duke has shown an interest in Smith. Lutey writes that Smith’s “dream offers” include the Blue Devils, Kansas and Houston – three heavyweight units in collegiate hoops. Smith has said in the past that he has an interest in possibly visiting Syracuse basketball. That would prove a critical development if the Orange coaching staff hopes to prevail for Smith, although his recruiting process likely has a long way to go. Syracuse basketball coaches do have strong recruiting ties to the Washington, D.C., region. In addition to Autry previously coaching at St. Paul VI, both he and ‘Cuse assistant coach Brenden Straughn coached at the Washington, D.C.-based Team Takeover in Nike’s EYBL league." insidetheloudhouse.com/posts/syracuse-basketball-5-star-recruit-goes-off-on-big-stage-has-blue-blood-interest-01hjerwd23ta"4-star SG Jordan Smith (2026) is a tough player, and that is where a lot of his production comes from. The 6-foot-3 guard has become a lot more comfortable on the ball, getting downhill and making a play. He is a physical presence and an explosive athlete. The sophomore finished with 17 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals." www.on3.com/news/hoop-hall-classic-day-5-top-performers/Have been watching this kid on ESPN2 for the last hour - not a fan of his game one bit. Bully ball kid who excels at the high school level based on size, toughness and athleticism. However, that won't translate once he gets to the high major college level unless he improves his skills substantially. Long arms which is good, but 6'4" max, can't dribble or shoot. Vastly overrated, he is the second coming of Earl Timberlake.

Paul VI wins WCAC title 63-51. Soph guard/Hoya target Jordan Smith of Paul VI eye-popping agin for the champs. Numbers good but not gaudy (12 and 8) but great nose for the ball and hops/want to. Not to jinx kid with a comparison hard to fulfill, but does remind me a hair of Victor Oladipo (attended Dematha/saw him in the same tournament). Athleticism mesmerizes, but frankly this kid is more skilled than Victor was in high school…Paul VI will play at home Wednesday in the last local game of the year in the quarters of the VISAA tourney in case anyone wants to see for themselves (after they win that game will be in semis but those are in Petersburg VA and the Alhambra tourney that follows is in the sticks of MD). Corrections and updates to the above post, from a reliable source: (1) the VISAA has changed locations of games such that Paul VI should be hosting a semi Friday (either St Anne’s-Belfield aka STAB or O’Connell, in all likelihood) and (2) no Alhambra tourney this year at all. Paul VI should however be playing again at something called “Chipotle Nationals” in Indiana in early April.. Paul VI overwhelms Link Academy to set up probable final against Montverde at noon Saturday in Chipotle "National Championship" tomorrow on ESPN2. Will be a rematch of game Montverde won over Christmas by 7. Of note, the big kid from Paul VI going to Duke, Ngongba, did not play in that game but IS playing now (though looks out of shape), so Montverde's Queen (the Maryland commit) will have to pick on someone his own size this time (he was the differnce in the prior game). Of other note, the announcers during the semi earlier today quoted Paul VI coach Glen Farello as comparing Paul VI's soph. Jordan Smith to Victor Oladipo -- so I'm off the jinx hook if he doesn't turn out that way afterall. I urge folks interested in high school prospects to watch, as between Cooper Flagg, Queen and the five D1 commits that start for Paul VI (not to mention Smith coming off the bench/let people draw their own conclusions about his game) will be VERY high level. And Montverde is undefeated/ranked #1 by MaxPreps in their "National" rankings (basically Academys etc). while Paul VI is #1 in their "High School" Division....

Thats a fair comparison. Kid has tons of work to do on his game like Oladipo did at the same point. He has other world athleticism.

And that somehow made you think he would scrap plans for football. OK He's obviously going to play football at Georgetown.

"Sebastian Wilkins can vividly recall watching elite high school stars like Sharife Cooper, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Jaden Ivey lace ‘em up at the Hoophall Classic on television, daydreaming about being in that position in the coming years. “Being from Massachusetts, the Hoophall is a really big deal,” Wilkins said. “This is the one everybody wants to play in, so to be able to have the chance to play in it was big for me.”... West Virginia, Rutgers, Providence and UMass have already extended offers while St. John’s, Georgetown, Virginia and Texas A&M have all expressed interest." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/four-star-sophomore-sebastian-wilkins-developing-on-all-levels
