Does Gtown disclise our NIL totals? How much has been raised? I am quite sure Ronnie has a sweet NIL deal…

How can a player maximize NIL value at GU if we play in an empty arena and lose most of our games? Plus, freshmen generally don’t play.

Salutation,
This past year, college athletics experienced significant change with the emergence of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). While our focus continues to be providing a world-class education and premier competitive experience for Villanova student-athletes, NIL is now a key component to retaining and recruiting the very best student-athletes, particularly for our flagship Men’s Basketball program.
In this new landscape, YOU can support and engage directly with student-athletes like never before. Your support will play a key role in the success of our athletic programs as we strive to support our student-athletes and continue to compete at the highest levels.
WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT VILLANOVA STUDENT-ATHLETES
Friends of Nova: A fan and alumni-driven NIL collective with a mission to provide opportunities for current and future Villanova student-athletes. Friends of Nova, led by Villanova basketball legend Randy Foye and former assistant coach Ashley Howard, helps maximize our student-athletes’ ability to benefit from their name, image and likeness in ways previously unavailable.
Supporters have multiple options to engage:
You can support The Friends of Nova, LLC through a financial contribution or business expense and support ongoing NIL activities with Villanova student-athletes, such as social media campaigns, autograph sessions and other events.
Friends of Nova has partnered with The BPS Foundation, a 501c3 organization, to support Villanova student-athletes and help support charitable causes in their community. Supporters will earn a tax-deductible benefit for their donations.
Note: Giving to Friends of Nova is not giving directly to the University and does not impact Nova Points totals, Lifetime Giving Recognition or giving recognition societies at the University.
Additional opportunities also exist for brand partnerships, speaking engagements, autograph sessions and more. Follow @friendsofnova on Instagram to learn about exclusive opportunities and upcoming events. For inquiries, please reach out to Randy (randyfoye@friendsofnova.com) and Ashley (ashoward@friendsofnova.com).
NIL Digital Platform: Villanova Athletics has partnered with Mercury, a digital brand experience platform that bridges the gap between fans and their favorite teams and student-athletes. This cutting-edge digital platform provides access to exclusive experiences; officially licensed, digital collectibles and a community marketplace. You can register for the Novanation.io platform here.
As more NIL opportunities become available, we will continue to share the details with you. As always, thank you for your continued and passionate support of Villanova Athletics.
Sincerely,
Mark Jackson Vice President and Director of Athletics

I’d like to hear a good reason why those are excessive. These are the best (or at least most notable) players on some of the biggest/best/most valuable teams in college football which is one of the biggest sports and media products in America. Seems low to me.

Reading this shows how far behind Gtown is on the admin front... The article also points out that every little bit helps in the long & short term. www.nildealnow.com/depaul-ad-dewayne-peevy-confident-under-the-l-fund-john-calipari/“Things are going well and that’s one of the things that’s touching more (student-athletes),” said Peevy when asked about the NIL deals already in place for Blue Demon student-athletes. “Probably 50% of our 215 student-athletes have ongoing deals. They range from free meals to free clothing to $50-$500-$10,000 for marketing kind of deals. Those are the things that are different.”

That is an insane lawsuit. Then choose another school. The Ivy's know they don't have to offer a scholarship because the value of their degree is considerably more. Schools like Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Duke, Stanford & Georgetown are all high academic/non-ivy/scholarship schools. The lawsuit would seem to be targeting kids who are high academic, good athletes and from enough means that they don't qualify for need based aid. I don't think I'll be too worried about those kids when assessing the overall issues that D1 sports have.

I don't think I'll be too worried about those kids when assessing the overall issues that D1 sports have. I agree completely that this feels kind of nuts. If a student can go D1 even at the ivy level then they have other full scholarship options. I am not fully educated in law or the lawsuit itself but if there was another matter like they were systematically being lied to by ivies about the packages or something then that might be different. However there are so many other problems in the landscape, and if you hate the no scholarship thing then just use your free transfer or don't go there in the first place. It is not like elite education is your right just because you can play ball and do decent in school... (and last I checked Rice is also mid major D1 if you can't reach P6 level offers and just want brand name instead of looking at the great individual educational programs at other schools) This kind of reminds me of those anonymous ivy students who tried to a sue a small minority recruiting program at a company recently when it was so obvious the silver spoon was being used and part of why it got thrown out was because they did not even show proof of any harm or respect to proper procedures because they just expected the world to bend to their will immediately. The suit also pretended like they don't have any other employment options as ivy students.

This is the type of administrator Gtown desperately needs, if they were truly interested in change this hire would be better than the next coach...

Why y'all so interested in counting other people's money?
The funny thing is none of you would dare tell how much you make, but find it okay to talk about other people's money. To make it worse, most of it is speculation...

To make it worse, most of it is speculation... The NIL & coaching contracts are a part of sports & public knowledge in the great majority of cases. It makes perfect sense to discuss both.

It seems to me that to keep things from getting corrupt/shady that all NIL deals should be made public. I understand this eliminates privacy to some extent, but I think without having public disclosures of such information, the ability for there to be corruption is very high. And to those who say, "Well coaches' salaries do not need to be public"--I would be totally fine with an NCAA rule requiring disclosure of that information, too.

Ironic that college only “pro” sport to not have some form of a salary cap. These aren’t NIL payments, they are NILS payments and they are getting paid for their skill. Nobody cares about their name, image or likeness. Billionaires outbidding each other.
