Yep, your stats back up exactly what I thought I was seeing - too many point blank misses from Q and not enough of Lic’s meanery. Q needs to improve his efficiency to justify being focal point of offense. To be fair, Harris also needs to significantly improve on his drive-and-finds to Wahab. How many classic PG drive, draw and slip pass for a dunk to Q did we see from Dante? Definitely can count them on one hand. That element (facilitator) was almost completely missing from Dante’s game last season. I don’t think that’s completely unusual for a frosh who is asked to handle ball and defend other team’s primary. But at his size, he should be looking to find more than finish on his drives in my opinion. That would greatly improve Q’s efficiency...and Dante’s FG% Teams know Dante has any issue finishing at the room so in the scout sessions in guarantee opposing coaches are telling their bigs not to help off or stop his drive, just try to contest at the rim... There won't be a lot of chances for dump offs until he proves he can finish consistently in my opinion... It tough because he can break guys off the dribble, but just couldn't consistently finish. Akinjo had the same problem, but that was due to his lack of athleticism and height. Dante has good lift and agility, but not enough lift with his height to finish at the rim in traffic.

If he can keep polishing that sweet midrange, it will force defenders to play him tighter, which should help his advantage finishing 1-1 which should pull help and give him dump off opps. There we go. Just hone that sweet midrange Dante, and everything will sort itself out. I did love that midrange. Reminded me of Austin and DSR. And honestly, that pull-up from the elbow might be a better way for him to facilitate anyway, because in theory Mo and Riley should be available as they fly in from the wing.

Dante can always get a step on his defender going to the hoop. He needs to be aware of the help. If it comes, he needs to dish it to a big or out to a shooter. It’ll come in time.

Let's all say it together: F-L-O-A-T-E-R A must-have for small guards who can penetrate. Get Blair to show you.

My all time favorite: Markel Starks. Hard dribble to the left and stop on the dime for the 15-18ft pull-up J. Money. It always amazed me how much space Kel would free up with that move.
