If it's a legit investigation, is anyone wondering in the least what they'll find? Repugnantcans on the board? Any thoughts?

Out of curiosity, to the "Republicans" on the board, what do you think your party has done well in the past 40 years that has furthered the stated ideals of our country? Family values? Nope. Fiscal conservativism? Nope. Pro-life? Heck no. What say you? Your main motivation is keeping yourselves fat and happy and continuing to marginalize minority communities that are becoming less and less of minority communities. Please offer any counterpoints. Any at all. Give it your best shot. And, when you fail, ask yourselves what you're actually supporting.

Don't expect an answer. To explicate what the "Republicans" purportedly believe will merely expose the hypocrisy of those purported beliefs when measured against the actual performance of their cult/party. They are more defined by what they DON'T believe in. From a previous post:
Convincing supporters of the Right that President Biden won the election fairly is an impossible task.
Accepting that more Americans did indeed vote for him than for President Trump, means acceptance of a broader range of facts:
- - that ‘same-sex’ marriage is an irrevocable part of our culture;
- - immigration based on ability and the needs of the labor market is preferable to the artificial quotas of the INA (“family unification” is inherently racist);
- - women’s bodies should not be subject to the control of old white guys and/or religious cultists;
- - the tax code should not favor the wealthy;
- - that everyone deserves a good education and an opportunity to work;
- - that science is superior to “blind faith”;
- - that ‘climate change’ and the pandemic are real and threaten us all.
But above all, it means admitting that conservative, white, Christian Americans are no longer in the majority.
There's a reason the "Republicans" have lost the popular vote in 7 of the last 8 Presidential elections.

Well, they're the, "Back the Blue," folks so it makes total sense. Falls right in line with all of the other things they're, "for." Fiscal conservatism, rule of law, family values, etc., etc. etc.

The cult of fear, hatred and dishonesty - the "Republican" Party. What Republicans really don’t want to see illuminated is not just what happened that awful day, but the forces that produced it — the same forces that still threaten the stability of our democracy. That’s because they see those forces — the anger and hatred, the rejection of the American system of resolving differences, the celebration of violence as a means of achieving political ends, the way social media has become such a potent instrument to spread and organize extremism — not as problems to be solved but as resources for achieving their own political goals. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/07/26/real-reason-republicans-want-sabotage-investigation-into-jan-6/

Any of our stalwart HoyaTalk "Republicans" watching the 1/6 hearing? Didn't think so.
You guys can't handle the truth because you belong to a cult/party based upon lies.
ABC, NBC, and CBS covering the opening statements. Take a wild guess which network isn't? You got it. Cowardly liars.

"Republicans" should be ashamed of themselves but we know they are beyond shame under the sway of the sociopath.
Waiting with bated breath for the clown show rebuttal by Moron McCarthy and Gym Jordan. It will indicate how stupid they think their base is and they may be correctly assessing it. Racist, ignorant and malignant just about sums up the "Republican" base.

After listening to the testimony of the Capitol and Metro police, I cannot imagine anybody voting for Trump again.

This guy was off duty on that day. He was beat unconscious and suffered a heart attack. He risked his life to protect the Republicans in Congress who can't even take time out of their day to stop lying about what happened and listen to what he has to say...

Get all the cultists in the WH like Mark Meadows under subpoena. Don Jr. and Ivanka. No assertion of executive privilege for the jerkwad cultists. The Justice Department will not move to block former Trump administration officials from testifying in investigations related to the Jan. 6 attack at the Capitol, according to a letter reviewed by POLITICO. The letter green-lights potentially damning testimony from aides close to Trump, who embarked on an unprecedented effort in his final days in office to overturn President Joe Biden’s election victory. Those efforts culminated in the Jan. 6 attack at the Capitol by a mob of his supporters, while lawmakers were certifying Biden’s state-by-state Electoral College wins. www.politico.com/news/2021/07/27/doj-trump-officials-testify-jan-6-capitol-attack-500819

^^^^ Taking their cue from Moscow Mitch our resident HoyaTalk "Republicans" didn't watch it either. They will anxiously tune into Fox, OAN, and Newsmax tonight in order to receive their gaslighting talking points which they will reflexively regurgitate.
The cultists have lost any capacity for critical thought, a necessary qualification for membership in their cult/party.

Republicans = Liars. I guess our HT "Republicans" are all good with this, right? Republicans have continued their whitewash of what happened that day, and their refusal to acknowledge the moral rot of the self-proclaimed “patriots” who attacked the Capitol. Those rioters were there at the instigation of President Donald Trump, who had convinced them that violence was a means by which they could overturn the result of a fairly decided presidential election. Even now, polls indicate that a quarter of Republicans approve of the rioters’ actions. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/07/27/heroes-jan-6-expose-lies/?itid=hp_opinions

The Sounds of Silence: this board's condemnation of people attacking police and their assets, of people burning down buildings, of masses rushing in with shopping carts to hold the merchandise they are stealing, of people desecrating monuments and churches, of people throwing bricks at or threatening representatives of the media, etc. There is one poster that routinely quotes statutes Trump or other members he considers to be enemies have violated. But, nothing on today's violence. Are you posters only interested in justice when it advances your agenda? Isn't it possible loudly and wholeheartedly to support peaceful demonstrations while, at the same time, voicing criticism of the violent acts?

But, nothing on today's violence. Are you posters only interested in justice when it advances your agenda? Isn't it possible loudly and wholeheartedly to support peaceful demonstrations while, at the same time, voicing criticism of the violent acts? Can't expect MAGA Republicans to understand Kinzinger's distinction, can you? Higher reason eludes them. And to my knowledge no Democrats pretended that the violence that occurred didn't happen nor did they condone it. Here, the corrupt MAGA Republicans still led by the sociopath have done both with respect to the 1/6 insurrection by their terrorists. "Some have concocted a counter-narrative to discredit this process on the grounds we didn't launch a similar investigation into the urban riots and looting last summer. Mr. Chairman, I was called on to serve during the summer riots as an Air National Guardsman. I condemned those riots and the destruction of property that resulted. But not once did I ever feel that the future of self-government was threatened like I did on January 6th. There is a difference between breaking the law and rejecting the rule of law, between a crime -- even grave crimes -- and a coup." -- Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), July 27, 2021
