At least wait until December to go full "the sky is falling" mode. We were close in a lot of gms last year against the mid and bottom tier teams. I can see Cooley winning a few more of those gms.....I want to see 17-20Ws and a team that no one wants to see come BET time. My fear is that it will be a team I don’t want to see come BET time….

We basically have a whole new team (surprise, like every year). I don't see us leapfrogging a lot of teams with what we have but maybe we pull a rabbit out of the hat. Maybe 1+1 equals 4 somehow. Summer does little to change the narrative so let's see how we do early on. 500 in big east and a year like St. Johns had this past year (no tourney) would be a win. You then have to bring back the pieces you have. I'm still waiting for that to happen.

I think they are about right 13-14 wins. That’s not good enough I am sorry. This program is done stick a fork in it and Cooley was a bad hire. Providence wanted to win this program don’t. Sick of it. I check scores but I don’t care. Really don't get why you pop up to do this every 3 months, lol

The reason I pop Up every three months to talk about it I can remember when Georgetown was a power in basketball. Not this garbage the last damn 10 years. I don’t get why the rich alumni don’t get in their pockets and help get some good players. Because they don’t care. Nobody seems to care it’s like beating a dead horse anymore. I never seen a former powerhouse program quit and not even care like this program has done, go to mid majors and get out of big east this program can’t compete in the big east anymore. Ridiculous what this program has become.

A lot of words when really his son just got too good to go to a struggling program. If this kid ever needs a second chance school, you gotta like Georgetown.

Patience! We are improving. My only question right now is how hungry is our coach? Do we want good or do we want great?

Nothing shocking here. Kids want the money and the PT AND to be a part of a winning program. It's not an unreasonable ask for these top-end talents. We may have the money, we do have the PT but we are not even close to being a winning program. Cooley must know by now that this job is going to be much harder than anticipated and as skilled as he is in promoting the program, the lack of results last year, the exodus players again and the "misses" on a few very high profile targets are only going to make this job more challenging. Is he skilled at promoting the program? If he is we aren’t seeing much of this skill, certainly not in a major way that differs drastically from past staffs. He stated in his only offseason presser last year that he understood the relationship between the program and local media hadn’t been the best, but it would be a fresh start with him at the helm. Much of the critiques Pops Lewis laid out of Gtown Alienating prep folks in the DMV can easily be said about the media and fan relationships Gtown has fostered over time. I get that there are some on the board who think media & fan relationships aren’t a big deal and/ or don’t matter much but I believe it contributes to the apathy surrounding the program

Other new coaches come in and pull kids instantly. That’s a lot of B.S. It’s trying to make someone feel good when you don’t want them.

Why would he even care about making EC feel good if he and his son are going to have nothing to do with the program? It couldn't possibly be that EC made a favorable impression, could it? The kind of impression that might be able to repair damage done and build relationships as long as he keeps plugging away? Nahh, that's too positive of a spin...

The same things have been echoed by Caleb Williams dad. Then you can revisit your opinion.

I think we should turn this into a game. Lets guess what the title of next thread jctnhoya4ever creates before the season starts. Bonus points if you can pick the day. I'll go with "Georgetown is scheduling schools I havent heard of" on August 2nd.

“Cooley should invest $1M/yr of his salary to get top players, win champ and get a 6yr/$9M/yr extension - good ROI” - November 30th
Is that too long for a title?
