I will be grateful for every game played this season. I just hope they are all televised or live streamed. Considering the content these TV networks desperately need, I can't imagine the games not being televised.

I don't understand, a NIT game was aired from McDonough two years ago. They'll work it out because content is needed and there's money to be made.

The main reason these games are being played at all is so the conferences/schools can collect the TV money. Georgetown's games will be televised, no matter where they play.

I have roughly a dozen games in my video collection of Gtown games played at McD. Obviously those games were televised, nationally televised to be specific.

I know games have been televised from McD in the past. I just wonder if 100% tv coverage of Div 1 college basketball during a pandemic is a given.

Athletic departments and universities across the country are hurting because of budget shortfalls, and Georgetown is no exception. The main source of revenue is television, and networks like FS1 need content, as others have said. Simply, there is really no reason to avoid televising these events unless COVID restrictions are so tight that even that is impossible. If not for television, I think the odds of this season being played would be much lower.

Great. Now the coaches will definitely be able to hear the grumbling of the kin of players getting little court time.

This season is going to be a hot mess. This is my first time on this thread and this may have been said many times before, but I'm just adding my two cents. Just saw the story on the Hall.

Yeah, that story started breaking last night. And even before that there have been some crazy rumors going on regarding the Hall.

Oh, and the Ivy League has apparently cancelled its winter sports.

Oh, and the Ivy League has apparently cancelled its winter sports. Damn... I always like picking the Ivy League to upset in March.

Ok....some pre-season hopes (note these are not intended as wild-ass fantasies)
* the Hoyas succeed in actually playing 15+ games. * Pickett and Blair get the elevated play that is frequently observed from seniors * Qudus takes the next step with his skills and is able to avoid unnecessary foul trouble. * Tim's play puts us to work figure out how he and Q can best play together * J. Harris, Carey, Bile can step in and contribute in their roles without glaring deficiencies * Carey's defense and overall play make us say "Mac Who?" * Sibley contributes immediately like the 4* recruit that he is. * Kobe turns out to really be 6'7" and is able to stay in front of guards * Berger is able to shoot 38%+ from 3 as a freshman in his limited minutes * D. Harris adapts quickly to the level of competition * Holloway shows us he can contribute something this year.
So I ask you....which one is most unrealistic? I think it is the 1st bullet. At the current trajectories, 15 games might be a pipe dream.
