Nice work students, keep it up. It will be interesting if the Hall can keep its numbers down; Essex County, NJ is spiking up now. hm

Paint Touches is a Marquette basketball blog, and Marquette has the highest rate in the Big East at 14.1%.

Of course it’s very cold up there so more susceptible

Why? If they bubble in Orlando there shouldn't be a problem.

Why? If they bubble in Orlando there shouldn't be a problem. There’s a thread of tweets further explaining, but essentially not every conference is following the same safety protocols and so not every team will be able to meet the standards of the Orlando bubble.

Why? If they bubble in Orlando there shouldn't be a problem. Are basketball games that necessary?

I'll be shocked if the NCAA is able to pull this season off. Cases are surging and it's only going to get worse. And trying to get 350+ teams to follow the same requirements is going to be like herding cats. I don't think this is going to work out and frankly I don't think schools should even be attempting it.

The battle was lost when college football got the go-ahead. Unless cases come down, you are gonna see I think a lot of issues in football soon too, and disadvantage is for basketball 2-3 players will have a big impact on fielding teams (in a watchable way). It’s “doable” but will be very hard and I agree on the herding cats. Also, football is revenue generating in a way basketball isn’t and I just imagine the tolerance for pain by administrators will be a lot lower. Just think, we don’t have a vaccine or even true rapid testing and cases are worse than at any other time, and we are trying to send kids all over the country to play. I hope it happens, but I think we are all being pretty optimistic.

I assume the tv networks + top 20 teams will manage to have a few marquee games mid-Nov to mid-Dec ... then halt until vaccines are distributed ... a more normal looking (shortened) season might be able to start in March, go into June

Agree, that seems more realistic.

Because it's against Freedom to need to show that you are cleared from the pandemic, prior to participating in a non-profit activity in a manner that others may be put at risk ? I think canceling the Orlando event was the right thing ... unclear on why the policy rift at the individual school level - is the 90 day retest requirement just a cover story excuse ?

I will be grateful for every game played this season. I just hope they are all televised or live streamed.

All you need to consider are the two conferences named. That tells the whole story.
