At this point, I agree with the posters who think we should play for the Big East Tournament. Get Mac/Omer 100% healthy. Get them some conditioning in practice and maybe a game or 2. But the only realistic shot we have now is to be full strength in the Bet and spring a tournament upset. We are quibbling over two choices neither of which has much realistic chance of working. But....I still think you have a better chance of beating the 2,3, and 7 seeds in three games over the next 7 days than we have of beating 9,1,2,3 on four straight days (which would be with a pretty short rotation even if both guys play). Wouldn't it be 9, 1, 4, 2? (Quibble mode). The difference is that we almost assuredly aren't winning the next 3 games (and maybe none of those 3) without healthy Mac and Yurt. Maybe they get healthy before the BET with rest and rehab.

I think you make a fair point, but I don't agree assuming the following: Mac and Omer are not 100% healthy for the next 3 games; and Mac and Omer are 100% healthy for the BET

Obviously if they are cleared to go it makes sense to play them, winning at least 2 of the next 3 would improve our chances. But yeah, Mac still in a boot does not suggest being even close to 100% within the next week, and Yurt being out last night after playing some on Saturday also suggests unavailability for at least the next couple.

At one point last night, FS1 showed a graphic that had the four BE players with the most minutes per game this season. Allen, Blair and Mosely were the top 3. There’s no way those three players can play effectively at that rate. Enter Robinson. Due to Allen’s foul trouble and lack of personnel, Pat had to play him more minutes. The resulting pt distribution was Allen with 31, Mosely and Blair each with 37, and Robinson with 12. Until Mac returns, I would like to see more of this, esp. if Pat is going to press like last night. At least try to keep the starting three to close to 35 mpg. Robinson had a strip, an offensive rebound, an assist, no TOs, a made 3 on one attempt and another basket in 12 minutes. Overall, he played well, although at one point on defense he was near our big and his assignment was standing outside the arc at least 10 ft away (But, since all of our players do that, I guess that’s how Pat wants all of them to play it). Robinson is a walkover for a reason. Lacks lateral quickness, speed and handles

The problem is you are getting a 20% Mac and 40% Yurt7 with a High probability of injury now vs a possible 80% Mac and 100% Yurt7 by the BET

Let's keep in mind that this was the first game without Mac and/or Yurt that we've not been competitive.
@ DePaul (lose by six without Mac) vs Provy (lose by ten basically without both) @ Butler (win by 7 without both) vs DePaul (win by 4 without Mac) vs SH (lose by seven without Mac) @ StJ (win by 1 without Mac)
I get that the fatigue is cumulative and half the games are with the bottom of the league. But....it's not like we've gotten blown out five times straight and need to waive a white flag.

Period. I'm with you there.

Robinson is a walkover walk-on for a reason. Lacks lateral quickness, speed and handles And still provided quality minutes. Let's try it again to keep our starters from having to play 40 minutes.

The season over for any NCAA I hope they can beat Xavier that would guarantee 16-15 if they lost to creighton and nova going to big east tournament.which maybee yurtseven can play by the nova game and be 70-80% by big east tournament.but if we beat Xavier and loose the other 2 and loose first game of big east tournament we still would get a nit bid at 16-16 but no use playing in it anyway unless just want to play to keep season going they are wore out probably be better the decline and call it a season that’s if they win 1 more but may not without top 2 scorers out that is to much to overcome.
