What I found amazing was that there was no let up...the effort ( and execution) was there start to finish. Start of the second half, I was worried ( remember the last Butler game), but after a slight lull, back attacking. Then they brought it home. Terrell Allen is our best PG in a long while.Understated, classy, solid, so glad he is a Hoya.

I think we have the best 2 backup centers in the Big East. What an astute observation! You must have been at the top of your class in school--all the way through college. Please don't tell me I'm wrong, now.

Given the circumstances, perhaps the best of the Coach Ewing era. I have to go with the best of a decade! I mean, we have not had this much fun in a long time.

How about my man Pickett with his best game in weeks with 12 pts, 6 rebs, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal and ZERO turnovers while knocking down 3 of his 4 three pointers. I'll take that box score every day of the week and twice on Sunday! He had a real rough start, but like the rest of the team, hung in there and contributed when called upon. Great rebounding at the end to limit Butler to one shot when they were desperate. Yeah, he missed some up close shots earlyb in traffic but stuck with it. I loved seeing him clapping at Allen to swing the ball to him on the shot where Allen hit the big 3. He was feeling pretty confident in the 2nd half and that is good to see how resilient the young man is.

I am in New Orleans this weekend in the midst of Mardi Gras chaos. Accordingly, I missed the game today. I got random updates from friends and family, but I can't offer meaningful commentary.
What I can say is that I am SO proud of these kids today. I hope they get a steak dinner in Indy before they fly home to DC. Beating a ranked team on the road with essentially five players is a remarkable achievement. My memory does not extend as long as some, but this is one of the toughest basketball teams I have ever seen.

But, otherwise, agree, very proud!

Nice to see multiple targets (including the coach) of the armchair coaches here walk the walk today at Hinkle.

Tim-Iggy’s 2 offensive rebounds and put back field goals were absolutely huge.

Tim-Iggy’s 2 offensive rebounds and put back field goals were absolutely huge. They were "old school center" stuff -- outjumping the other team, soft putbacks, really great stuff to watch. Long arms and he's got some touch.

Tim's two late putbacks were gigantic. Allen really stepped up today. Pickett played much better than he had recently. Absolutely gigantic win. Very huge. This team fights. No let-up in this team.
Also, I noticed a softer hedge in this one and that made the screen defense much better.
So happy with this win. Time to add to it!!!! Go Hoyas!!!!

I noticed that too, only Tim didn't seem to get that memo, as he kept hedging a little too hard (one foul and several "out of positions to recover", but Ewing is definitely still tweaking and adjusting. He shows no quit, and neither do his players. should've swept this series!

If you cannot get behind this team then just forget about following team sports! What an effort, never say die mentality, playing as a team and the coaching, while shorthanded, has been tremendous. So fun to see a Hoyas team be greater than the sum of its parts. Congrats to all the coaches and players; I hope they take all of Sunday to savor this huge victory.
Hard to believe that is 4 in a row at Hinkle. Coach Ewing has never lost there.

Need to keep building on this momentum. Ewing was very good today in switching defenses, managing the clock, using timeouts to get some kids a rest and settling them down when things started to go off the rails a little. Really happy for all involved. Very few turnovers and minimal fouls except in the post. Pickett, Blair, Allen, Wahab and Mosley each contributed in a big way. Kudos also to Tim I and George M who came in for a few minutes.

Provy will come in here desperate and confident in that they've beaten us pretty good up there and have won here before...it will be another critical game and the Hoyas need to keep the same level of focus, toughness and efficiency and protect the home court with another huge win...keep it going, boys...the train is rolling...

Wow! Just watched the game on DVR. What a tremendous win! Can't remember being more proud of a Hoyas team! Playing with tremendous guts in a hostile environment while being way undermanned. Four starters playing the entire game - unbelievable! Major props to Allen and Blair for their composure and big shots! And Coach Ewing and staff deserve bigtime credit as well! Hoyas!!!

Seven turnovers given the team we fielded today in a hostile road environment is truly astonishing. So proud but also really happy for these guys. The left everything on the floor.

Not a single guy was a sure fire starter at the beginning of the season. We have no business beating a top 20 team on the road. Big credit to big Pat!!!
