Down 50-33.
Of course I thought we were dead in the water. Havent read anything yet but our 3/4 press in second half clearly aggravated them. The big delay helped us enormously. And Pickett played much better afterward. Say what you want about Jahvon but he totally kept us in this game and hit enormous shots. Jagan had some tough moments as he seems prone to have when in Metro NYC but he also had some fantastic plays.
SJU hit a lot of big shots. Tough since they dont shoot well. And we still fought and scratched. Overcame 2 technical fouls in 2nd half.
That was a gut check. WITHOUT MAC.
We aren't gonna win the national championship, but that was one of the best endings I have seen for Hoyas basketball. And I was a freshman in 1988.
What an effort guys!

That replay showed hard check/block out by Figueroa. Wasn't that big a deal so don't know why Pickett so frustrated over that. I was looking for a low blow in the man region but it wasn't. Its a hard elbow to The liver. Any hand to hand combat person can easily see that. I did my two years at a remote military base in the Middle East? And you?

Still a winnable game. I will take back everything bad I’ve said if we can win this somehow. Time to pay the piper.

Where is the doctor. Someone call Kaiser help line. Some of you need to refill your meds. hopefully y'all are still away from home. Would hate to see the dog get kicked for using the bathroom outside.

This is likely a meaningless game in the grand scheme of things being played by 2 bad teams but I am as into as I have been a game all year. Already setting up The negative response To diminish The WIN. Like clockwork with you.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe this is somehow a Quad 1 win.

Mosely has been the peace maker twice this season and no fear getting in the middle to keep players from doing something really stupid and getting thrown out. Great leadership. I thought it was Allen who separated Pickett and pulled him away. It was Allen.

I just watched the video of that Yurt reverse pivot baseline 2 handed slam seven times. Tasty.

What an incredible win by the team today! Yurt drove to the hoop and jammed! We saw for a moment Qudus and Yurt together. Jayvon was a player not only a sniper. Jamorko did what was necessary and the team brought grit and grind to the end. Im sure I forgot somebody, sorry. That was wonderful! Please stop giving coach Ewing hell! Go Hoyas!

Win or lose he's going to find a way to praise Akinjo, dude annoying Lol!! Completely agree. Trey’s obsession with Akinjo is ridiculous. Separately, who is he to comment on point guard play? Seems like an overall nice kid, but he was more or less terrible as a Hoya (one good game — several awful games). Enough is enough. He should go support one of the other 3 teams he played for.

Several thoughts:
1. Ewing showed his coaching smarts. Shorthanded, down 17, point guard with 4 fouls he pulled some different defensive schemes out of his pocket to put us back in the game. 2. Blair and Mosley played their hearts out. 3. Yurt showed some meanery when we needed it. Could this be the start of something big? 4. Coach Anderson is vastly overrated. St. John's had no clue how to handle our zone defense and press. 5. Beware irrational exuberance. This is St. John's we just beat not Nova or Providence. 6. Watching on TV, Mac's foot seemed to really bother him. I'd be surprised if he's ready for SH.

I thought it was Allen who separated Pickett and pulled him away. Mosely there too and helped on the sidelines. Allen was first there and stayed with Pickett to get him to Patrick.

Dude has at least as much insight as any of us bozos in this board. I happen to disagree at least in part with him. Had Akinjo more consistently played within the system (a system which was built to give him a lot of freedom), he would have been a great Hoya. When Akinjo decided he knew better than coach, it was a different story.
