Positive reviews about Tyler Beard today...(sorry don't know how to embed tweet) Patrick O'Brien @pobscout 2021 6'1 Tyler Beard (Tea Marie 17u) has been puttiing on a show the first two days. Scoring at will all over the court. Showing his confidence level at the #PhenomSummerHavoc

2021 6’1 Tyler Beard (Tea Marie Hoops): Beard has been off the charts the first 2 days. Scoring 19 points on Day 1, he continued early on with a 35-point performance. He absolutely scored every where on the court, including hitting seven 3-pointers in the win.

1. Is that the same 2021 high scoring elite PG Khalil Brantley out of Boys & Girls in Brooklyn that holds a Hoyas and several other BIG EAST offers? If so I'm curious as to how he's playing for B-Maze Elite? Not suggesting anything, more just curious of the connection but to lazy right now to find it out myself. I doubt he ends up Georgetown but the kid is a stud. 2. Speaking of thoroughbreds, the Hoyas got a few coming in the 2021 class. I personally expected Tyler Beard to make huge impact this upcoming season if he'd remained in the 2020 class, especially after the Judas departure of that guard this spring. I only expect more of an impact now that Beard is in the 2021 class. Scary how dynamic he will be in Coach Ewing's up tempo drive/kick NBA offense. Fans don't realize it yet but the staff did a ridiculous job rebounding after the departures in December and exodus this spring. They have brought in a lot of multi skilled positionless players with tremendous potential. It's a shame they didn't get the usual summer conditioning and development because of the pandemic.

The good news is that all the other teams have to worry about the same thing with their new players. To be frank I'm more worried how all of this will affect guys like Tyler who are still in high school. Will they have a season to finish off that final stage of pre-college development?

From what I have seen, many high schools are figuring out ways to get sports in. Just received confirmation from our high school (in NJ) that they are committed to providing sports and after-school activities. For Fall sports, they are adjusting the start/end dates. But, all this is obviously dependent upon no further surge of COVID-19 cases.

I wish that was completely true. UConn, Seton Hall, Butler, Marquette, Xavier, and Creighton I believe full rosters are together on campus at least the last few weeks (beginning of August) having official workouts. DePaul and Villanova just got it's squads together in the last week or so as well. I'm not sure of Providence, and St. John's. To my understanding the Hoyas aren't on campus yet either. With so much change to the roster, The sooner the team gets together the sooner the coaching staff can really learn what they have as a roster and focus on conditioning and skill development. The sooner the players are together, they can gel, build that chemistry and grow together. Hopefully the NBA & Yale University partnership will be the keys to saving lives so we can have sports with their COVID-19 Saliva test. Maybe just maybe the 2021 class will have a season at some point within the next 10 months.

Fingers crossed we keep him. Let's not bring that negativity into this. We all understand the possibilities, no need to voice it. Until something happens that tells us otherwise, we should expect Tyler to be a Hoya. Besides as fans there isn't much we can do one way or the other.

I completely agree...way too premature to make drastic, baseless assumptions. Drumming up negative vibes do not help anything.

I am pretty sure that at some point this weekend on social media, I saw Beard posting something in response to a fan post expressing excitement about him coming to Georgetown next year. Beard's post was something like "this is just the beginning". This seemed like a positive indication that he is still planning on coming to Georgetown. I searched around Twitter a bit to see if I could find the exact post, but I could not track it down. But I definitely read something along these lines over the weekend. So there is at least a little bit of evidence that Beard is likely still on track to become a Hoya.
