Tyler sounds like Jagan with a better offensive game. At least better than freshman/sophomore Jagan. Probably a little smaller also....

You win a lot of games with the no mistakes, tough defenders .....when you have a Sleepy Floyd sometimes the best paring is an Eric Smith and not another guy who thinks he is the man. Someone who takes the good shot but isn’t out to create their own offense.
A key component for Dante and Tyler will be their ability to throw the LOB. Going to be some savage dunkery going on next season.

How has Tyler been playing? Looks likes Hargrave stopped posting game recaps so I can’t really tell.

He seems to be the forgotten guy in our recruiting class. He appears to play the 1 and 2....maybe folks should go back n revisit his highlights.

I tend to think Beard has to be the backup 4. If we don't think he's a point guard then we've made the same error in 2021 with shooting guards that we made in 2019 with centers by bringing in 3 in one class and putting all of them on the depth chart with a much more experienced player (Carey in this case, Yurtseven last time). If Beard can't play point guard, he's very possibly the 5th shooting guard on the depth chart behind Aminu, Carey, Riley, and Berger. Meanwhile, we have a good 10-12 minutes a game waiting for a point guard to grab them. It only makes sense.
I watched a little of Beard this year and he was sort of underwhelming, but I'd note that at this time last year many people thought he'd be the starting point guard for the '20-'21 season ahead of Dante (and before Jalen committed). His high school career pre-prep school finished strong. He's a year older and more mature than most incoming guys would be. I think he'll slide into the backup point guard role nicely.

I definitely have faith that Beard can give Dante good breathers to keep his effectiveness high (I think people forgot how taxing his first season stretches were which always hurts percentages) even if he is not a pure 1, Beard fielded with Carey or Berger (also Aminu has real good handles) at the 2 could be perfectly fine and should not be the primary focus for transfers.

I'm super excited for Beard (remember that dunk!?!), but it would still make sense to bring in a grad transfer guard for veteran leadership and experience

Also just watched the Mt Vernon game....very impressive. He can do it all. Just got excited about next year. Would not be surprised to see him make the BE all-rookie team. In fact, I expect it. With the amount of playing time available, I wouldn’t be surprised if we have one or more players in the BE All-Frosh team. I’m going to bump my post (which completely missed) from last year and say I was a year early.
