Lamothe’s final four of Gtown, UMD, PSU and UCF along with his recent slide down the rankings tracks with his recent performance. I think he ends up a good player in college but if he is truly a Maryland lock it’s not a recruitment loss that really sets you back. IMO Marvel Allen is the kid you put all your chips in on, especially since we likely will only have one or two spots to offer ‘23 kids. I’d also love for Gardner to pull up, but he seems to be the Johnnies’ to lose given how the last few months have gone.

I am sure my name gives it away but I am from MA, outside of Boston. Anyone familiar w/the area may recognize a smallish local paper telegram and gazette. They are reporting Gtown, Davidson and Wake Forest were all in Thursday at 6AM for a private workout for TJ Powers of Worcester Academy. He is a 6'8" 210 pound forward. Ranked #51 by ESPN. It stated Gtown has offered. Smart kid offers from Harvard and BC recently as well. I have a buddy closer to the local sports scene, he said it was Ewing in attendance for the workout. One of the biggest movers in the updated class of 2023 rankings TJ Power has seen his recruitment pick up this spring. The 6-foot-8 sharp shooter will visit Virginia and is looking to set up visits with Notre Dame, and USC in the near future. “My recruitment has definitely picked up a lot since I’ve been playing well, he said. “A lot of new schools have been involved like Virginia, Notre Dame, USC,Indiana, and Stanford.” “I’m flying straight for Louisville to Virginia And I’m trying to set up visits with Notre Dame sometime in June and USC but Notre Dame is more far along right now.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-TJ-Power-Virginia-USC-Notre-Dame-188038264/

Josh Hubbard is being courted by a lot of schools from across the country as we head toward his Sept. 22 decision date. The main schools involved are Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Seton Hall, Georgetown and Houston. However, sources told Rivals on Sunday morning that one school has taken the lead in Hubbard’s recruitment — Ole Miss. The Team Thad guard will be making a splash in the upcoming Rivals rankings after a good start to the spring and a strong weekend in Louisville. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/graf-s-takeaways-latest-from-eybl-commitment-predictions

I’d also love for Gardner to pull up, but he seems to be the Johnnies’ to lose given how the last few months have gone. Arkansas’ communication and success on the recruiting front has ESPN 5-star prospect Marvel Allen intrigued by the Razorbacks. He stays in touch with Coach Eric Musselman and recruiting coordinator Ronnie Brewer. “Coach Brewer has been keeping in contact with me the most,” Allen said. “Coach Musselman texts me daily, so it’s been good. I know they have a good 2022 class. They’re one of my options, so I’m just taking my time and waiting for the offer and then it’s a possibility I can go there if the situation is right.” “They have to be doing something right for them to have the best recruiting class,” Allen said. “They got Nick Smith, Anthony Black and Jordan Walsh. Those guys aren’t just going to go anywhere. They’re going to go somewhere they trust they’ll be developed. I’m looking at that.” An admirer of good defense, Allen likes how Musselman focuses on defense and is energetic on the sideline. “(He) coaches with energy,” Allen said. “You can tell he’s that way on and off the court. He truly cares about them because it shows how the players play, so they know Coach is all in for them. "They’re going to give their best to play hard. The players are a mirror of Coach Musselman.” www.wholehogsports.com/news/2022/may/29/5-star-marvel-allen-intrigued-with-hogs/

Just to name a few counter examples off the top of my head of people that speak very highly of Ewing as a person and coach: - John Thompson Jr (maybe you’ve heard of him) - Dikembe Mutombo - Alonzo Mourning - Jeff Van Gundy - Stan Van Gundy - Steve Clifford - Etan Thomas - Doc Walker
I’m upset with myself for taking your bait but that’s just an unbelievably stupid and disrespectful thing for you to say. Attack his coaching record/ability all you want. The character attacks are pathetic.

Don't you know which poster is this board's #1 "people person", who has splendid relationships with all the rest of us?

I find the comment about Ewing not recruiting the Boston area off base. The fact of the matter we have no true sense of a lot of GU's recruiting outreach. Now that's a fact. What we do know is who commits to and signs to attend.
So, no, there have not been any Boston area young men who've come to the Hilltop in recent years, that's not truly a reflection of recruiting outreach. I know the effort's been made to land New England talent.

I can't recall a single offer to a BABC player since PE has been at Gtown, granted that they’re talent levels haven’t been great over the last few years but there have been a few good prospects.. To be fair Akok is a Mass Rivals kid, same for D. Ashton- Langford but even the offers there are lacking considering where PE is from in my opinion..

I don't think it is just the Boston area, or the BABC program, that they Hoyas should be recruiting harder. There are always a handful of highly rated kids playing in that New England Prep school league, and you very seldom hear about the Hoyas being involved with those kids.

Not recruiting the NEPSAC hard enough goes back to the JT3 days...

Not recruiting the NEPSAC hard enough goes back to the JT3 days... Georgetown has signed all of two freshman recruits from Massachusetts since 1970: Patrick Ewing and Nate Lubick. The relationships aren't there and it's not a priority for either side.

I don’t think you should speak for Massachusetts but I get why the state or more specifically the Boston area wasn’t much of a priority before PE took the job.. Aren’t a high number of Gtown students prep school kids? If so why wouldn’t the program make recruiting the NEPSAC a priority?

I’m surprised someone so old would still be a D1 prospect.
