“As he’s working through this process, we wanted to show him all different types of schools,” his father, Michael, said Sunday night. “Small schools, big schools, city campus, college town, east coast, west coast, Ivy League. We wanted to really show him all these different schools so when it comes time to make a decision he does it based on something.” The junior from Windermere, Florida, is doing his homework. Last weekend, the 6-8, 210-pound Stewart was one of three official visitors at Ohio State, making the Buckeyes the fourth of five scheduled visits. The process of getting there started during the early summer, when his high school team played in Georgia and went against Milton Alpharetta, a team led by point guard Bruce Thornton. Thornton is an Ohio State commitment for the class of 2022, and the Buckeyes were on hand to see him. They also saw Stewart, and as the summer progressed they saw more of him as he played for the same AAU program (Each 1 Teach 1) as Thornton and fellow 2022 commitment Brice Sensabaugh. It led to an Ohio State scholarship offer. “Coach (Jake) Diebler came down to a practice, we scheduled a Zoom call, the whole staff got on to say hello, coach (Chris) Holtmann was on at the beginning of the call and gave Sean an offer,” Michael Stewart said. “Ohio State is Ohio State. It was interesting. We knew the history so we had an interest in coming down and taking a visit, so we all agreed to do an official visit.” The goal is to pick a school before the end of the 2021-22 school year. During the summer, Stewart checked out Florida and Central Florida locally and also has taken unofficial visits to Georgetown and Harvard. This fall, the family has taken official visits to Stanford, Michigan, Georgetown and Ohio State. Up next: Duke this weekend. “We do everything we can to make sure he works just as hard off the court,” Stewart said. “It’s a priority for us to deal with schools who offer not only a great basketball program but an outstanding education, and I think that everybody that’s on our list fits that category.” “It’s going to come down to a feeling that he has and where his heart is and how he connects with the players and the staff,” Stewart said. “Having a nice gym or locker room or whatever has become secondary. You’re going to spend a lot of time with your teammates. You’re going to spend a lot of time with the staff. That’s what becomes most important. How comfortable you are with the people that you’re going to spend more time with than your family?” www.dispatch.com/story/sports/2021/11/01/ohio-state-official-visit-leaves-impression-sean-stewart-family/6231875001/Windermere (Fla.) Prep forward Sean Stewart will take an official visit to Duke this weekend. Stewart has already taken visits to Michigan, Georgetown and Harvard. As the lone official visitor on campus, expect Jon Scheyer and Co. to turn up the heat for the versatile 6’8” forward. www.si.com/college/2021/11/05/college-basketball-coaches-hosting-prospects-duke-kentuckyA 2023 Duke basketball recruiting target, Sean Stewart, plans to announce his college destination on Thursday afternoon. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound solid four-star out of Windermere (Fla.) will do so at 4:15 p.m. ET on Instagram Live with On3 recruiting insider Joe Tipton. And judging by both the 247Sports Crystal Ball and Rivals FutureCast for Stewart, it looks as if the Duke Blue Devils are all but a lock to be the winner for the assertive power forward’s services. His other seven finalists, which he named in mid-November, are Georgetown, Harvard, Howard, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio State, and Stanford. Stewart ranks No. 33 overall on the 247Sports 2023 Composite, meaning he is on the cusp of earning a five-star rating. He received an offer from the Blue Devils during a visit to Duke in early November. balldurham.com/2021/12/23/duke-basketball-verge-another-top-class/

No surprises here Sean Stewart to Duke. I didn't realize he has a brother at Howard.

One of the more intriguing long-term prospects in the class, Akil Watson has a lot of tools to work with given his size, length, and ability to sprint the floor. A 6-foot-9, 200-pound power forward out of Roselle (N.J.) Watson is in the beginning stages of figuring out the schools he is heavily considering within his recruitment. “It has been a really good process because a lot of schools are coming at me,” says Watson. “I just have to take my time and choose wisely to make the right decision for myself.” Holding offers from the likes of Auburn, Connecticut, Creighton, Georgetown, Illinois, Nebraska, St. John’s, and Providence, Watson says Connecticut, North Carolina, and Oklahoma State are the programs that have been on him the hardest. Watson recently completed an unofficial visit to UCONN this weekend. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Akil-Watson-UCONN-Oklahoma-State-North-Carolina-Basketball-Recruiting-173367505/While Roselle Catholic had a pretty balanced scoring attack, I was very impressed with the play of class of 2023 forward Akil Watson. Throughout the start of the high school season Watson has shown his improvement in shooting and has been very aggressive. Last night was more of the same, shooting five of six from three without forcing anything and letting the game come to him. Watson possesses good physical tools that will take him a long way but needs to get stronger to really bring his game fully together. He has some ball skills but is more of a skilled four at this point of his development than a wing. On the recruitment end he has taken a recent official visit to Illinois along with an unofficial to UConn. 247sports.com/college/arizona/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Darren-Buchanan-Akil-Watson-DJ-Wagner-Kylan-Boswell-Slam-Dunk-By-the-Beach-179213485/

Taylor Bol Bowen describes himself as a “huge fan” of Duke basketball. So among the many NBA players Bowen has been compared to in his prep career, from the Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant to the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Toronto Raptors’ Pascal Siakam, hearing his name evoked alongside the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum has been extra flattering. “I just envy, obviously, what they’ve got going on at Duke,” Bowen, a five-star 2023 small forward recruit from New Hampshire’s Brewster Academy, said Wednesday at the 2021 John Wall Holiday Invitational. On Tuesday night at the John Wall Holiday Invitational, Duke coach-in-waiting Scheyer and assistant coach Nolan Smith also sat courtside for Brewster Academy’s loss to Word of Christian Academy. “Coach Scheyer is a great coach for sure,” Bowen said, adding that the former Duke point guard was one of the first coaches who reached out to him on June 15, the first day of the year colleges could directly contact 2023 prospects. “He just wants me to come in and use my length, athleticism and versatility.” Bowen, who grew up in the small town of Jericho, Vt., has 20-plus Division I offers, and he’s mentioned Arkansas, Georgetown, Kansas, Providence and UCLA as other programs who speak with him frequently. www.fayobserver.com/story/sports/college/basketball/2021/12/31/duke-recruiting-blue-devils-basketball-taylor-bol-bowen-jon-scheyer/9047123002/

MATT REED UNDECIDED 6'8" | 250 LBS | C | 2023 ISCHOOL ENTREPRENEURIAL ACADEMY COPPELL, TX In this same event last year, Reed showed flashes. Fast-forward to this season, and the 6-foot-9 junior had a full-on breakout performance. Skilled with excellent size, Reed averaged 14 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 54.5-percent from three in the event.
Reed is an adept passer from multiple levels on the floor, as evidenced by his two assists per game. He is vocal and he plays hard, and he can really shoot the ball as he made it to the all-tournament team.
With his recruitment just starting to take shape, Reed claimed high-major offers from TCU and Georgetown and has taken a visit to Loyola-Chicago, which has also offered.
Isaiah Abraham Interview
N/A - NATL - ST - POS ISAIAH ABRAHAM UNDECIDED 6'7" | 180 LBS | SF | 2023 HIGHLAND WARRENTON, VA Isaiah Abraham had somewhat of a breakout performance at the 2021 Beach Ball Classic. The Warrenton (Va.) Highland School sophomore averaged 12.7 points while showing length, athleticism and deft three-point shooting ability.
After watching him play, we were able to catch up with him for an introductory type of conversation.
On his game: “Getting to my shot. Shooting the ball would be my best attribute, and playing hard in general. I’ve worked hard at my ball handling over the last few months. I am getting better at shooting off screens and reading the defense. I watch a lot of Paul George.”
On his offers: “Georgetown, George Mason, NC A&T. I have visited Georgetown and George Mason. I have also visited Maryland, but they haven’t offered me yet.”
On Georgetown: “They are a good program. I like the way the coaches coach their players, and they have a lot of experience over there. They have good overall organization. They have a lot of size on their team too.”
On George Mason: “Coach Kim (English) is a really good coach. He is young too, so he made it a really cool experience. I loved it over there.”
On schools that have not offered, but he hears from a lot: “Maryland, George Washington, Indiana have shown some interest.”
Do you have any hoopers in your family? “My dad, Faisal Abraham, played at Marquette. My aunt also played in the WNBA.”
On what he is looking for at the next level: “Any opportunity that will help grow me, grow my game and help get me to my dream of playing at that next level.”

Seems like all our offers are for guards and wings approximately 6-7". That's interesting. I know there are exceptions but this trend is perplexing. Are we good otherwise?

Speaking of juniors with size who can shoot the ball, Lewisville (Texas) iSchool’s Matt Reed can really stroke it from deep. He catches the ball ready to shoot, gets it off quick and has easy range to 23 feet. He’s not the most athletic guy, but he finds bodies to box out, plays with a good motor and had mid and high majors watching him closely throughout the weekend. After a tough go of it on Friday night, he bounced back quite nicely on Saturday. TCU offered during September and he’s got offers from others like Cleveland State, Georgetown and Rice while many others look to be close to pulling the trigger. 247sports.com/college/clemson/Article/The-Scrimmage-Ashton-Hardaway-Penny-Hardaway-Julian-Phillips-Jordan-Walsh-LSU-Arkansas-174846022/In this same event last year, Reed showed flashes. Isaiah Abraham proved to be one of the top offensive talents this past weekend at this year's Pangos All- East Freshman/Sophomore camp. While this was my first time seeing Abraham live, he showed his ability to shoot and attack the rim, along with his good size and long arms at 6-foot-6. “Defense wise I've been working on moving my feet against smaller guards,” he said. “On offense I’m working on being more patient and getting to the basket more. I'm just aggressive. I'm going to work hard and play defense.” “Moving forward in my game I feel like there's a lot for me to improve on,” he continued. “I want to improve my IQ , be more patient and just work on everything.” Abraham currently plays at Highlands School in Warrenton, (Va.) where he is set to start his sophomore season. So far he’s already started receiving offers and interest from schools and looks to show people who he is and make a name for himself this season. “So far I've received offers from Georgetown, North Carolina A&T, George Mason, Bowie State, North Texas and interest from Indiana who came to my practice and liked how I played, and George Washington among others.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Isaiah-Abraham-Pangos-Georgetown-George-Mason-North-Texas-173963681/Georgetown University men’s basketball coach Patrick Ewing and Maryland coach Danny Manning have been at Highland School recently scouting boys basketball talent. It’s easy to see why. Highland’s boys program is rich in new recruitable hoopsters this year. A year after star guard Angelo Brizzi departed for Villanova, Highland has more players to drool over. They include 6-foot-10 sophomore big man Patrick Ngongba, 6-7 sophomore shooting guard Isaiah Abraham, 6-9 junior forward Patrick O’Brien, 6-6 senior forward Reiss Whitaker and 6-2 junior guard Cam Cole. www.fauquier.com/news/highland-becomes-destination-spot-for-men-s-hoops-coaches/article_bcd3ff16-6d67-11ec-9de8-9f373d997587.html

Dennis Parker, Jr. came in at No. 49 in the recent 2023 Rivals150 update. This ranking makes the Richmond (Va.) John Marshall High small forward, the No. 11 prospect at his position in his class. Even with the 6-foot-6 wing missing most of his time with his Team Loaded (Va.) 3SSB 16u team, Parker, Jr. still carries a lot of interest from college programs. “I currently have offers from NC State, LSU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Florida, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Rutgers and a few more,” Parker, Jr. said. “I would say, of my offers, I am hearing the most from NC State, Oklahoma State and Georgetown.” Georgetown: “They are a pretty good program. My boy from Virginia, Mac McClung, started off there. I heard a lot about them from him and his situation, and that got me interested.” “I just came back from injury, so a lot of schools haven’t seen me play in a while,” Parker, Jr. said. “Most of the schools talking to me have offered, but as I keep getting back to myself, maybe more will come over the next year. I have been on visits to Maryland, NC State, and Richmond. I don’t have anything scheduled, right now, until next year.” “I want to go to a program that has great chemistry, a program that is unselfish. On and off the court, I want to go to a coaching staff that will always build you.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/four-star-dennis-parker-looking-for-the-right-fitLEXINGTON, SC -- Dennis Parker, a 6-foot-6 wing out of Richmond (Va.) John Marshall, currently ranks as the No. 44 overall prospect in the 2023 class. Lately, he has received two high major offers from Kansas and Xavier and as he awaits others to jump in the mix, he discussed where things stand in his recruitment with 247Sports. Kansas: "They think I am a next level type of player. They want me bad too. They think I am a pretty good player and they can make me into a draft prospect." Xavier: "They said they want me really bad. They will keep in contact me, I am a good type of player, they will help me develop more into an NBA player." 247sports.com/college/north-carolina-state/Article/Dennis-Parker-recruiting-update-2023-class-Kansas-Xavier-179956252/
