That is was the sound of it when Aminu committed. He mentioned "years" and Ewing talked about having him at Georgetown for "years". I hope Aminu is on campus for no more than 2yrs. The optics aren't good if a 5* recruit is still on campus for his junior year. I know most don't like the sound of that but the goal should be to replace the studs and keep them surrounded by solid 4* 3-4yr kids.

Georgetown: “Georgetown shows a lot of love. I speak with Coach Ewing and coach Crouch almost every day so they're building a relationship with me, im building a relationship with them and they speak to my mom and dad, so they're just showing a lot of love right now and I really appreciate that.”
“They have a NBA legend as a coach with a lot of connections and can get people to the next level. They run a lot of NBA stuff out there so why not play for them.”

Not surprisingly, the Hoops Festival brought out a strong contingent of coaches throughout the weekend. Among the schools that we were able to spot in the stands over the weekend were Connecticut, DePaul, George Mason, George Washington, Howard, La Salle, LSU, Marquette, Michigan, NC State, Pittsburgh, Radford, Rutgers, St. Joseph’s, Syracuse, Texas, UNCG, VCU, Villanova, Virginia and West Virginia. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/LongFormArticle/Basketball-Recruiting-National-Hoops-Festival-Carlton-Carrington-Dereck-Lively-Cam-Whitmore-177475561/#177475561_5

Isaiah Coleman is the No. 80 player in the 2023 Rivals150 ranking. This ranking makes the 6-foot-6 Coleman the No. 23 small forward in his class. Coleman burst on the scene last season after a big performance at the CBG Spring Series with Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian School. College coaches immediately took notice. "I have offers from Ohio State, George Washington, Maryland, Georgetown, Xavier, Temple; there are a lot of them, really. I would say Xavier and Maryland are the ones I am hearing from the most." Xavier: "I actually just took an official visit out there. They are all about basketball, I mean, they don't have a football program, so they are all about basketball over there. The facilities are nice; they're getting a new gym and everything." Maryland: "I have visited there; I like their program. They win and have pros. They are Under Armour, too; I like that. They want me to play the point; they're talking about that. All in all, I like their program." "Schools like Ohio State and Georgetown, they have offered me but we haven't really started talking about the programs and visits and stuff, so I don't really know a ton about their programs yet." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/isaiah-coleman-looking-to-play-fast Why we don’t do well locally Since we first ranked Coleman a couple of cycles ago, he has done nothing but continue to improve in each viewing. The 6-foot-5 junior at Fort Washington (Md.) Nation Christian has always been an aggressive, slashing wing. This weekend he showcased good pace when attacking from the wing and a high defensive I.Q. He knocked down six threes on the weekend as well. Closing in on 10 offers, the 2023 No. 80 ranked Coleman has taken an early, unofficial visit to Xavier. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/shaw-s-takeaways-national-high-school-hoops-festival

It wasn't Isaiah Colemans best offensive performance throughout but he got it together down the stretch with some key baskets for National Christian Academy. Throughout the game the 6-foot-5 junior struggled offensively but I was impressed with the way he dug in on the boards and locked in on defense. He was just in the right place at the right time for his scrappy points throughout the game. He currently holds offers from Miami, Depaul, Maryland, Georgetown among others. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-PSA-Showcase-Yves-Missi-Danny-Carbuccia-Jayden-Reid-Otega-Oweh-Isaiah-Coleman-Mike-Sharavjamts-178768300/

That being said, both Kwame Evans Jr. and Mackenzie Mgbako who check in at No. 2 and No. 3 in the updated ranking are hot on his heels. A product of Baltimore who has transferred to loaded Montverde (Fla.) Academy for his junior season, Evans could be the most naturally gifted player in the class. Pushing 6-foot-10 at this point, he’s a skilled combo forward who can shoot with range, cover ridiculous ground on defense and he’s just scratching the surface. He’s also inconsistent. If he’s able to figure it all out, it may be tough to deny his claim to the No. 1 spot. Auburn, George Washington (where his father is a hall of famer) Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Memphis, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and USC are just a few of the 20 plus programs who have already offered scholarships. 247sports.com/Article/Dajuan-Wagner-Jr-holds-on-to-the-No-1-spot-in-the-updated-2023-rankings-173005099/Montverde Academy forward Kwame Evans will be releasing his top schools in the near future. The 6-foot-9 forward is currently ranked the No. 2 overall prospect in the class of 2023 and has visited Kentucky with plans on visiting USC, Texas, and Duke as of right now. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-247sports-Kwame-Evans-Holiday-Hoopsgiving-Kentucky-Duke-USC-Duke-Texas--176683658/Class of 2023 5-star Kwame Evans, Jr. will take an official visit to IU according to a report by Joe Tipton of On3. Tipton’s report indicated the visit will take place Feb. 11-13, but The Daily Hoosier has confirmed those dates are not correct with the Hoosiers on the road at Michigan State that weekend. We have confirmed a visit is in fact scheduled and we are working to confirm the actual dates. IU hosts Illinois on Feb. 5, and that is their only weekend at home in the vicinity of the reported dates. So that weekend, while not confirmed, looks like a good candidate. Originally from Baltimore, Evans transferred to Montverde Academy for his junior season. He is teammates at the Florida-based prep school with Indiana class of 2022 signee Jalen Hood-Schifino and other IU prospects. According to the 247Sports Composite, Evans is the No. 2 player in the nation among class of 2023 prospects. He has a lengthy list of suitors including Kentucky, Texas, USC, Auburn, Maryland, Florida, Georgetown, Illinois, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, and others. He is expected to narrow down his list relatively soon. His only other official visit to this point that has been reported was to Kentucky. Assistant coach Kenya Hunter is leading the recruitment for IU. He has been involved for a couple years at this point. Evans’ father is George Washington basketball hall of famer Kwame Evans, Sr. The 6-foot-10 Evans has a 7-foot-2 wingspan and plays more on the wing than in the paint. He plays spring and summer basketball for Team Durant on the Nike circuit. www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-recruiting-2023-5-star-kwame-evans-jr-to-take-official-visit-to-indiana/

I think that's U of Georgia's logo, not ours. That it is. Johnson may not have us in his list but Sean Stewart is announcing today and we are in his final 8. Duke is probably his choice.
