Nice play in an otherwise assist-free game.

Marko needs to hire Fraschilla as his agent, if he hasn't already. Fran did say that Marko signed an Exhibit 10 deal and Pistons trying to figure out how to upgrade him. He was on an Exhibit 10 contract from the beginning. this is nothing new.

It looked like the Pistons had him playing power forward tonight. This is really what makes him most valuable. He can play the 2/3/4 and small ball 5. That allows for alot of roster flexibility.

Dead money walking: Could Detroit Pistons lead the NBA in cutting vets"Hypothetically, if Okafor and Doumbouya were gone. The roster shapes up like this: Garza and Pinkett to the Pistons 15-man NBA roster. Most likely sign a contract like Livers, two years with a team option for the third. Littleson gets the other two-way contract. Local guy playing for the Motor City Cruise is a good move. If he shoots lights out there, he can be brought up to the Pistons for 45 days to help. Detroit sucks it up and muddles through bad year with salary cap space, waiting for the following year, when it opens up like the Grand Canyon." pistonpowered.com/2021/08/15/dead-money-walking-could-detroit-pistons-lead-the-nba-cutting-vets/

Can another team sign Pickett to their NBA roster? Or does the Exhibit 10 contract restrict him to the Pistons? What about if they put in the G League to start?
Just saying my Lakers have 3 spots open and a need for 3 pt shooting and defense on the wing/forward positions. Just saying. Ariza could be a good guy to emulate to find his NBA niche. Bumping Mac back to the Overtime league would be a nice bonus.

Bumping Mac back to the Overtime league would be a nice bonus. My interpretation is that he is restricted to Pistons unless Pistons waive³ him - unlikely with Pickett. An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary NBA contract. The deal has a particular Exhibit 10 attached to it and no bonuses come along with it. This attachment is included in the contract after both the sides (team and the player) have agreed to it. An Exhibit 10 contract gives a franchise the flexibility to convert it into a two-way deal, but the team has to ensure that it happens before the commencement of the regular season. Exhibit 10 deals are usually non-guaranteed, which means the team can waive the player and get the cap hit off their payroll.² If a player is on an Exhibit 10 contract with a particular team, it would allow him to participate in that franchise's training camp. The team will control that player's G League rights, and he is eligible to get $50,000 if he manages to spend 60+ days with the G-League affiliate. Signing a basketball athlete to an Exhibit 10 contract works out well for NBA teams, who hold the option to cut them or include them in the roster if they play well. The Miami Heat did something like that last offseason when they signed Max Strus to a two-way contract after he impressed in training and then in the limited minutes he got. The New York Knicks also did something similar with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist some time back. An Exhibit 10 contract also works out well for a player trying to get into the NBA. This kind of deal gives him a chance to impress the franchise and become a part of the roster. NBA is a tough league to be a part of considering the roster size of teams and talent depth the game of basketball possesses, and an Exhibit 10 contract offers athletes a very lucrative option to prove their worth. What sucks is that there is so much dead salary cap space on the pistons and obviously hating much of their roster that will open up next year otherwise Pickett could’ve already been on at least a two way. So as of rn he is going to the camp and can possibly get signed fully or put on a two way before the season begins. I feel like a group of teams are lookin, so when can he be possibly signed by other teams? I don’t necessarily want him to leave but rather just make it on a roster, a lot of chatter I have seen likes all of the youth the pistons are building which saves money with a long term plan and Pickett can be a apart of it

SOURCE: skeeda.com But Weaver knows a lot of people around the NBA. Neither Okafor or Doumbouya’s contracts are outrageous. There might be a team out there in need of a backup center like Okafor, or beleive in Doumbouya’s potential. If trades are out, and Weaver has gotten a big ‘No’ from upstairs in releasing players with guaranteed money, this is the way it could go: Garza gets last two-way deal. Plays a lot with the Cruise in G-League to work on defense and comes up to Pistons when needed. Littleson and Pickett have Exhibit 10 contracts. They play with the Cruise and get paid more than normal G-League salary if stay for 60 days. Pistons monitor how they do and take it from there. The only danger with that strategy is that, to put Littleson and Pickett on the Cruise, they need to be officially cut at Pistons training camp.
Other NBA teams are in Las Vegas too, they can see how Pickett and Littleson are playing. They could be claimed by another team on the waiver wire.pistonpowered.com/2021/08/15/dead-money-walking-could-detroit-pistons-lead-the-nba-cutting-vets/3/

As a tangential aside, there's a peripheral Hoya nexus as Paul White was Okafor's teammate @ Whitney Young, @ which Tyler Beard also matriculated before spending last season @ Hargrave.
