Hilltop conveniently left this part out from Givony: "What stands out? Out of thousands of seniors in D1, D2, D3 and NAIA, only 104 declared. More will enter by May 30, but that's a lot of talent potentially returning to college basketball"

104 seniors for the NBA Draft is a lot of competition for our Hoya. Then add other classes and internationals. I don't think that's the path Pickett is taking. Good luck to him!

Nice story. Jamarko was one of the guys I was most happy for during the BET glow.

That's a fine article in general and JP deserves a feel-good cap to his GU career. But to weave in a "he's a loyal DC guy" thread into it and not mention that he actually committed to Ole Miss is pretty silly.
It was no surprise that when the opportunity came for Pickett to choose where he would attend college, he wanted to stay at home and show out for the family and friends who had given him so much. “He actually visited Georgetown and Maryland, and even Kansas was trying to get him to visit, but he only wanted to visit those two schools because of the proximity of home,” said Myers.
Without commentary on the decommit, that's bordering on just getting it plain wrong. Am I missing something there?

Great read on this young man. I confess I fell into the "potential" trap in my viewing of his first 3 years at Georgetown. Looking at his height, build and athleticism I pictured him as the next Kevin Garnett. Did not know that he really did not get serious about organized basketball until junior year in high school. What I and many others on this board attributed unfocused or lazy passes were just a function of a on the fly learning process of when and how to make correct pass. Even though Dante and Blair got the headlines for their scoring in the BE tournament, I felt that his rebounding and defense was the glue that made the team jell and for that he should have been named MVP of the tournament. not taking any the great play of Dante. Good luck Jamorko in what ever you do.

That's my guy right there! One of my all time favorite Hoyas; put him up there with Patrick Ewing. Can't wait to tell the young soldier just like I told Patrick. One of my all time favorite players! You go Jamorko and can't wait to see you get your shot in the NBA. I know it's gonna be a grind but you already know about adversity my man and you will always conquer adversity because you're a strong young soldier. Rooting for you playa as always!

Here we go again- Hoyatalk, where no day can be a happy day... There are people on this board who would criticize Jesus Christ for taking three days to rise from the dead and would find him lacking commitment. Props to Jamorko and Jahvon

I both liked the voice story on Pickett (a lot) and thought the ole miss recruitment should have been mentioned particularly when it was said he wanted to stay local and didn't visit Kansas.
