My bad. Based on the tenor of your other posts, I assumed you intended to include yourself in the group that you opined has more valid opinions when you said the following: "To pretend that all opinions are equally valid and equally informed, is naive in my opinion (and no, that’s not some personal attack, that’s the word choice that fits best). Some people have more valid opinions than others and that’s just a fact, but in this super PC culture you’re not allowed to point that out." ….and you assumed wrong. Thanks for clarifying. Good to know you’re not in that group of posters whose opinions are more valid than others.

Thanks for clarifying. Good to know you’re not in that group of posters whose opinions are more valid than others. The level of arrogance and condescension was staggering. Though, I did get a good laugh out of the "censorship" posts. Talk about a complete lack of self awareness.

Yaboy stated that "Pickett was always the best NBA prospect in the program" That's far different than saying "Pickett has been a bonafide NBA player since day one" Hard to argue against his actual statement in my view... You’re….arguing…semantics? When the point still stands? Without going back to the post, dude listed about 6-8 things that justified his value and only 1-2 of them were accurate. It was a stretch argument, if you’re being honest with yourself you’ll see that. But my point, actually, was about how Morko and Jessie were viewed as prospects when they stepped on campus. Relative to his position group (aka the job he’d have in the league), Jessie had more comparative advantages (game wise) than Morko has at his. I understand how someone can view that as debatable, but only if they’re conveniently forgetting the pedigree Jessie came in with. We don’t need to make up things about Morko and compare him to Jessie and put him down to make an argument for his value, certainly when they were both 4 starts with league potential. Anywho, I’m good off of this site to be honest. With the success Ewing and Co will have in the coming months I don’t see this board getting any more positive. Being “right” is such a thirst around here. @hoyasinceewingera I sincerely hope you can hold down the fort my man. Just so we're clear I only listed 5 skills and 2 intangibles in the post you're referring to. In the above video with Dwayne Casey he listed 4-5 skills and 1-2 intangible as reasons he liked him. The only skill he left out was that he's a switchable on defense. I personally think defense is one of the best parts of his game but you might disagree. Casey mentioned his size for position, his length, athleticism, shooting ability, and the fact that he's a good communicator as reasons he liked his game. I'm kind of confused as to how that equals me getting 6-8 things wrong? Also I honestly don't recall saying anything close to what's quoted here: If you have something good to say I’m always all ears, but to expect me to accept “Morko has been a bonafide NBA prospect since day one and Jessie didn’t come in with a similar pedigree” when I know it’s not true.

This place becomes more unreadable by the day as seemingly every single thread devolves into petty squabbles and personal attacks. It’s beyond tiresome and I find myself spending less and less time here every season. It’s a shame because this place used to be tremendous.

Everyone thinks they are right and know everything about everything no matter how far away from their area of expertise it may be. Admitting one is wrong about anything has become too much for our fragile psyche and forgiveness and understanding for others’ shortcomings or misunderstandings is now a sign of ‘weakness’. We are quickly becoming an unfriendly species loyal only to our own notions and beliefs.

Agree with the above. This board is just a microcosm of what society has devolved into. I hope it doesn’t get much worse before the pendulum swings for the better. ☮️

Just to be clear, I do NOT think my opinion should be valued above others, but I was making a point that I think is obvious to most of you. And with that, I will exit this discussion and focus on what should be an exciting season of basketball for Hoya fans.

It’s the same culprit in every single thread, I’m really confused why we allow it to happen.

It’s like their egos are attached to every post they make. I visit this board a lot less than I used to because of them. It’s sad. Feels like we lost the little community we cared about and the place where we liked each other.

Just wondering: if I want to read about Jamorko Pickett, should I go to the Hoyas in the NBA thread? Clearly shouldn't go here.

Lets reclaim the thread for Pickett then. I'm just amazed at how far he has come, really putting everything together in a short period of time. I don't expect him to get a rotation spot at all this year, but hopefully he can have some extended time on the main roster with chances here and there to get quality minutes. Worst case scenario, he still makes roughly $450k this year to hone his game in the G-League, which isn't a bad deal either.

Third quarter of his first pre-season game and JP hasn't entered the game yet. Clearly those who said he wasn't an NBA level talent are vindicated.

Seawwed, It often takes time to get time. Patience [grasshopper] no insult intended. Just sounded funny to me. Still he will have to earn his time. When I looked last, Cunningham had no minutes either.

When I looked last, Cunningham had no minutes either. No worries - I frequently forget that snark does not come through in internet posts the same way it does in real life. So to be clear, I jest. For safety's sake, assume I am joking around here, unless I actually separate my post into separate paragraphs - then I am deathly serious. And yes, Pick got in the game and scored - so it's all good!
