“Georgetown is another school in my top 5 one because I’m a fan of their style of play. And having relationships with players who were once on the team and hearing them talk about the coach, coaching staff and just team as a whole it definitely seems like a place that I can rock with. Also just having the opportunity to work with a legendary coach like Patrick Ewing.”

Extremely winnable list - Wake Forest probably the favorite with the kid following Forbes from ETSU.

Very possible. Nike Sibande and Mateo Rivera (DSR’s younger brother) were both high school class of 2017 in Indianapolis, pretty sure different high schools and AAU teams but they were both on the all star/state teams so they probably knew each other.

Sibande is following all Alabama people on twitter. He's not coming to us.

It’s great to hear that head coach Patrick Ewing is out of the hospital and recovering thanks to his fight with Covid-19. His coaching staff will have to help out in making the case for Williamson to join Hodges to the Big East, after an exodus of talent from the roster. He’d be playing for a team who’ll lose their returning starters, Jahvon Blair and JaMorko Pickett after next season, leaving so many question marks going forward. What wouldn’t be a question for Williamson is the high amount of playing time he’d get with the Hoyas, likely as the lead guard. The Hoyas have a host of three-star commits who they hope will have big roles as freshmen but Williamson would have the edge over all of them unless they break out. Playing for a nationally-known program in the Big East is a big selling point, as long as there isn’t another coaching change he’ll have to deal within the next 12 months. Wake Forest Demon Deacons Some of these programs make compelling arguments for Williamson but it’s clear that Wake Forest makes the most sense. Not only would he be reunited with his coach Steve Forbes but he would essentially return back home to Winston-Salem. The team also is in huge need of finding talent, with the top four scorers now gone. The recent de-commitment of three-star point guard Marcus Watson gives them urgency in landing another ball-handler. Bringing in one such as Williamson already familiar with Forbe’s system would help speed up the rebuilding job that the Demon Deacons is going through. With location and the head coach both in favor of Wake Forest, it’ll be really hard to envision Daivion Williamson not going anywhere else. But if he does opt to go to one of the four other options, look for western programs BYU and San Diego State to be contenders as well. bustingbrackets.com/2020/05/26/ncaa-basketball-analyzing-final-5-teams-transfer-daivien-williamson/3/

From the quotes it would seem like Wake is the school to beat.

We may not get the kid, but I really like what he's saying about the program: Liking the style of play, liking the coaches, and former players speaking well of the program. I know that hasn't resulted in a lot of big commits, but if his sentiments transfer to others, it would seem to set us up for recruiting well in the future. It seems we just need some on-court performance.

Oof. Another PG-ish type. Shot 10% from 3 in '18-'19. That'll make the faithful happy.

Yeah - I was just going for effect there. Still - I don't see much in this year's numbers that suggest GU playing time, let alone major contributions. Very Trey D pre-GU stats, but at least TD was playing D-1 ball. Maybe if Pat's unsure about his PG situation...? If he thinks Harris is our only point and doesn't want to over-burden Beard or D Harris w/ more than the occasional PG minutes...? Maybe then. But to me... this seems like a time you keep that scholarship in your pocket.

Please...No more schollies to guys who are "almost pretty good"and who would just create an unnecessary crowd at the same position... real difference makers only at this point...or just keep that ship in your pocket until that time, be it this year or next...

Makes sense. We aren’t going to have four players transfer out mid-season again.

Effectively, yes...why use your last schollie on an undersized wing who averaged under 10/gm in juco and shot 32 % from 3? At this point, we have to do much better IMO...

Wing is a pretty generous description.
Aside from a little height, everything else - listed position, stats, 1st JC bio ("up-tempo, true pass-first point guard"), recruiting comments - screams PG.
No matter the role, I'm hopeful we can do better with our last spot.
