We won thank God, but in the second half why the heck does Kaleb just get in there at the 4:00 mark?! Was one of the lone bright spots the other day and that's what happens? So much for tinkering with the lineups Exactly. Coach keeps saying he substitutes by feel but geez, what about production? Hayes needs defensive help in the form of a true 4. All teams are doing is spreading GU out, keeping everyone up high and finding different ways to cut to the basket....sigh...

How does she feel about tonight's game vs Oakland I'm the she and he's the he, lol, but if this were the Hoyas without DSR, We'd have lost by 30. Spartans have gotten contributions from everyone on their bench without Valentine and kept themselves in the game. Down big early they amped up their defense, found other ways to score. Not a lot of teams that could do that. Wasn't attacking, really wanted to know how *he felt watching their game.

Barely pulling out a win against a team by three points that Michigan (who is unranked btw) beat by 55 does not count as a win to me. I'll take the win, but we really need this week long hiatus to reset everything. Interrestingly, I believe GU would certainly play UM tough.

He's long, athletic, and a guy you never have to question his hustle. III will never do it but I'd like to see it. Our only half decent perimeter defenders are Johnson, a freshman, and Peak when he isn't fouling. Tre has no defensive discipline, and Copeland is lazy, eve Reggie is a better defender than he Ike which is inexcusable given his physical tools.

Obviously he wants the win but State has played a damn good second half after being down big, with a chance to win a game a lot of people thought they might lose even with Valentine, let alone without.

Just a reminder, Charlotte has lost to: Elon: 85-74 East Carolina: 88-74 Michigan: 102-47 Davidson: 109-74 Miami: 88-60 Campbell: 76-70 Plus two other losses to Syracuse and Washington. This is an absolutely horrible Charlotte team. If JT3 manages to Edited this one away, he may want to think about hanging it up for the good of the program. Well we held them under 60 points. Only Michigan in your group was able to accomplish that. It might be a straw and I might be on a sinking ship, but I am grabbing on to that.

Why did III keep DSR and Copeland on the bench for so many minutes in the second half, when the game was so close and it was obvious they needed to be out there? At least we got the win, though very ugly, and let's hope we can build on this. Maybe there's a Christmas miracle for this team.

The bigger issue is that DSR left in the first half with 4:28 to play and GU up by 13; when he returned with 0:02 left in the half, the lead was down to 3.

I've said this before but our season will live and die by DSR's performance. Our players play better when he is on, the whole team seems to lose its soul when he's off. I've been his biggest fan since his freshman year and it's sad to see him struggle like this. I miss the DSR last year who had that fire in him to win. For now it seems like that fire is extinguished.

Villanova hit 13 3s against Delaware tonight. Lots of work to do on defense. . .

Final Thoughts:
1. It is a win
2. Ike lead all Hoyas scores with 12 points and big buckets down the stretch by Derrickson 10 pts, Peak 10 pts and DSR 10 pts helped to save the day
3. Offensive and defensive woes persist. The book is out on the Hoyas and the team needs to adjust or suffer more loses
4. The Hoyas must protect the baskteball better 8 assts vs 13 to's
5. The good news the Hoyas outrebounded the 49ers 43 to 37 but did give up 11 offensive rebounds
6. 18/22 FT's, 81.8%, was a key to the victory for the Hoyas
Final Grade: C
Interesting Kaleb Johnson did only see 3 minutes tonight after having a career day vs. UNC Asheville...I think JTIII has a picture of Johnson that will be hard to change...fortunatly in Hoya land, Gtown was able to pull out another tough win during the OCC and get ready for Big East play. Everyone who saw this game knows that the Hoyas were lucky to get away with the "W", if the 49ers hig their FT's 10/20, 50% this game goes down as a lost But as fate had the Hoyas was able to gain control and end the 2 game losing streak. Onto Marquette...Happy Holidays

So much bad in this game, and if 49ers shoot decent free throws we lose. Long road ahead. Charlotte entered the game 338th of 350 teams in FG % defense, with opponents averaging 49 percent. Georgetown finishes at 34 percent. Wayyyyy too many misses on drives and very short jumpers close to the rim.

Final Thoughts:"Onto Marquette...Happy Holidays" Okay, are you assuming a win over DePaul?? Or did you just miss them on the schedule? We open with them in the BE on Dec. 30. They are up 41-29 over a ranked GW team right now.
