Barely pulling out a win against a team by three points that Michigan (who is unranked btw) beat by 55 does not count as a win to me. I'll take the win, but we really need this week long hiatus to reset everything.

I think we had the "anomaly" performances backwards earlier this season.

The only thing we did differently in this game then the last two losses is make free throws and play better free throw defense. That was another putrid perfromance.

So much bad in this game, and if 49ers shoot decent free throws we lose. Long road ahead. Charlotte entered the game 338th of 350 teams in FG % defense, with opponents averaging 49 percent. Georgetown finishes at 34 percent.

I assumed there'd be plenty of heart attack games this season. But this one wasn't on the list.

Does JT3 know any other type of offenses? That extra 5 seconds off the shot clock really hurts us. I just can't believe he keeps running the same thing when it's obvious its not working. Barely getting past a 2 win charlotte team. Might've lost if they shot better from the foul line. I just can't watch something over and over again that doesn't work.

Does any reporter dare ask that question at the post-game presser?? Why would any news outlet send a reporter to this game? Two terrible teams going nowhere... Good point.

Paul is hurt. Though he was in the dog house. You could see in this game that he was laboring getting up and down the court. Agreed. He's still nursing an injury. He's not a quick player to begin with so when he's slowed down by injury, it makes it all the more obvious his lack of athleticism. My previous point still stands despite the ugly win, this team lacks leadership both in the huddle and on the court. My SO is a Spartan so we watch a lot of Michigan St games, Izzo has to be one of my favorite coaches in college basketball.

We won thank God, but in the second half why the heck does Kaleb just get in there at the 4:00 mark?! Was one of the lone bright spots the other day and that's what happens? So much for tinkering with the lineups

The good: We won.
The bad: Everything else.
If anything, I thought we regressed tonight on both ends. I liked DSR and peak going aggressively to the hole down the stretch. But we seemed lost offensively. Paul being in the game in the first half seemed to be a wet blanket at a bad time for it.
We did a great job on their shooter toward the end and kudos to DSR for the primary duties there. But the rotations were just atrocious. Even on the shots they missed.
Wow. I mean, wow. I guess if I am struggling for another positive, I thought the rebounding was better.

Over the next 2 months we will play 8 games against nationally ranked BE teams. Forget about what we've endured the last 2 weeks. THE SEASON STARTS NOW!!!!

So much bad in this game, and if 49ers shoot decent free throws we lose. Long road ahead. Charlotte entered the game 338th of 350 teams in FG % defense, with opponents averaging 49 percent. Georgetown finishes at 34 percent. Rough road ahead in the conference. Monmouth is a good team. Asheville is an inexcusable home loss coming off that Monmouth blowout, but it's not a godawful team. Charlotte is abysmal, there's no way to rationalize their quality/ability. They're outmatched against almost every opponent (evident in their record and other data). But not the Hoyas. That's a one-possession game. Not sure how we even reach 9-9 in the league barring a massive turnaround. And imagining 9-9 (which would get us NIT eligible regardless of UConn outcome or BET, yay for us!) feels like hubris right now. Eight games against legit top 20 teams, two more against a Marquette team that I think will give us a ton of problems, especially in Wisconsin. Creighton and Seton Hall feel like splits. Not sure I'd feel much better about St. John's or Depaul, either--that's basically our peer group entering the league. As others have suggested, this must run deeper than any on-court issues at this point, even if those issues exist. I hope they get it sorted out and surprise us all. Thought there were too many pieces to not finish top 4 conference, BET weekend game(s), NCAA bid. Right now all are laughable. Go Hoyas.

dsr is a major part of the problem. he is a ball stopper on offense and invisible on defense.

How does she feel about tonight's game vs Oakland I'm the she and he's the he, lol, but if this were the Hoyas without DSR, We'd have lost by 30. Spartans have gotten contributions from everyone on their bench without Valentine and kept themselves in the game. Down big early they amped up their defense, found other ways to score. Not a lot of teams that could do that.
