Did I read that correctly? Radford loss still looming very large, I guess.
4 Big East teams in the top 18...

How can we beat Syracuse and be unchanged in number of votes (4)?

That is disgraceful. We beat both Wisconsin and cuse, and they get 78 votes and we get only 4???!!!

Did I read that correctly? Radford loss still looming very large, I guess. 4 Big East teams in the top 18... It's pretty simple. Remember: it's not really "votes," but rather points based on where voters place you. I think we've gotten one vote from one voter as the no. 22 team (thus four points) since after week two (MD/Wiscy/Duke). So, there's just one guy that thinks we're top 25. Everybody else saw us start 1-3 and dropped us from consideration on their ballot. Tons of people had Cuse in their Top 25 and presumably all moved them down or out. But nobody decided that we were worthy of a vote after the game. (It's a bit odd that our one voter didn't move us up, though...) Anyway, it's just reality that we're going to have to have a respectable record to move back into the poll. That's how the poll works. Probably would have to win all of our games through the first DePaul game (thus starting 2-0 in conference and 11-3 overall) to move back in.

In coaches' poll a little closer, but still 47-6 vis a vis the cuse.

How can we beat Syracuse and be unchanged in number of votes (4)? But guys, Arkansas little rock beat Idaho AND central Arkansas and went from 2 to 5 votes. That makes sense.

Graham Couch has us at #22. But his poll is insane including UCLA at 15. He has by far the most outliers (counted as ranking a team 5+ ranks from their actual ranking) so I wouldn't actually put too much stock even in those 4 points. Ultimately, that Radford left a bad taste in pollsters mouths. In the end, I hope we play with a chip on our shoulders.

Let's see where people have us after we beat Monmouth. Need to show that we can handle the upstarts.

A win over Monmouth will earn us nothing right now.
A 12-6 Big East conference record will earn us something by March.
Doesn't matter at all right now. We know we have an NCAA-caliber team, the team just has to keep winning OOC and post a competitive conference record and we will be just fine.

Agreed. Also, that is what an L to Radford will do. We don't lose that, we are top 25. Regardless, we have to go out and win the next 10 and we will be playing a top 20 tilt against Nova at home on January 16th.

www.bigeastcoastbias.com/2015/12/7/9854144/big-east-basketball-power-rankings-december-7Georgetown proved they're a better team than their 1-3 start indicated on paper, grabbing a convincing quality win over rival Syracuse. Their jump to third on our Power Rankings - over two one-loss teams, no less - is certainly a stunner, but it's a show of faith in a very talented team with two quality losses from top-five teams. The Hoyas were late to the party, but they're only beginning to pick up steam - Pierce Roberson
