Just 7:26 into the game in Newark NJ, and St.John's/Seton Hall already have combined for as many points as Maryland/Michigan State had in the entire first half. Not much need for a half-court offense in this game so far. Very fast pace. SJU leads 18-13.
EDIT: Wrong thread. Sorry about that. Reposted where it belongs.

oooh sick burn from deep in the heart of Texas. Come on Hoyas, let's not make this a one-week stay in the Top 25. Will be a challenge, but, as I implored before the IU game, Shoot the ball DSR and JT55ive!

At least I didn't reference the ball dropping at 11:00 pm...

Meh, I dont think it's about the NYE midnight thing. It's more the fact that the students are well past being home for the holidays, and if you are going to go out for NYE, you are likely going to plan to be elsewhere. Put it this way, I love me some GTown season tickets, but I will admit to the jury that I did not attend the rollicking Gtown-DePaul game on NYE last year.

It was a 6 pm start, iIRC, and there was plenty of time to party afterward!!

For what it's worth as of yesterday their athletics department website showed over 1,000 tickets still for sale. Tickemaster wasn't accurate. And with all the season ticket holders and students that won't be in attendance it won't be a sell out. But they will have many more people than we would've had had we had the home game.

Cintas Center holds 10,250. I'd agree we wouldn't get more then 9k if it were in DC. Hopefully in-season, many of our fans in the area prove many of us wrong but I wish we could get more people to every game. Obviously the better we play the better attendance will be. Win tonight and they will come.

The pre-game show included snippets from players and coaches about New Year's resolutions. Joshua Smith (with a smile on his face): "My New Year's resolution is make sure I'm playing basketball after New Year's."

To my surprise, Xavier is a 5pt. favorite. I do not believe that Xavier has a better win this season than the Hoyas win against a ranked Florida team or Georgetown's win against a good Indiana team.
Is this analysis wrong?

Very sloppy play this far... Is it the late night start?

So Hopkins gets blocked twice on one possession. New levels of efficiency there. Is he channeling Charles Smith circa 93?

Georgetown thus far is off to a slow start, the front court combo of Josh Smith and Mikael Hopkins is a combined 0-4 FG's at the under 16 min. t.v. time out
