Great, consistent game by the Hoyas tonight. Never let CSF get closer than the halftime deficit of 11 points the entire second half. I definitely enjoy games won handily by GU. Don't need the drama.
Nice to see some real scoring from Wallace tonight. Green was as solid as ever, hitting a couple of threes, too. Lots of boards for Cook. I'm a little surprised at CSF outrebounding GU given their lack of size. Maybe someone reporting from the game can explain how that happened. The rebounding seemed to be the only part of the game that kept CSF in the game at all.

I am glad if this is Owens last year, that he goes out a winner at home, Good game by all who played. This team is one 6'8" or 6'9" experienced post man from being a top 20 team. A good big man from a Juco would be perfec fit. Are there any out there?

Green was plain dominant and Bowman had about 4 Top 10 Plays. The around the back dish from owens to bobo for the slam. The ridiculous reverse layup where he was fouled and was nearly hitting the ground when the shot went in. Bobo is gonna be a serious playmaker next year. But best part of the game was the fans. It was loud in there... eardrum splitting loud.
GO UNLV!!!!!!!!

Great experience. This really was a statement for those advocating an on-campus arena. We have to make this happen! Was a great college basketb all experience.
Did it sound as good as it felt? Did it come thru on TV?
The Hoyas played well for the most part. Our starting 5 is fearsome; our bench is weak but hopefully thst will right itself with out froshes coming in.
Ray-Ray played well, especially defensively. He is a valuable asset to the team.
I think Roy is hurt- feet, maybe- bc when he's in, he's a presence. Jeff fouled out but I thought he deserved better treatment from the stripes.
Great experience overall. Go UNLV- let's host one more!

Good to see this win. CSF seemed to play well given their troubles and XC trip (although I didn't see the game). They rebound well, especially on the offensive side. We did block eight of their shots to their one block. Let's keep this up. So if UNLV does not get to go home, let's play them in McD. I usually don't root for them, but if it means another home game for us: Go Rebels.
GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAT THE STATE SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From where I was the last foul on Green looked like a clean " get the hell outta my house" stuff. I need a clip of the jwall steal, to upcurt pass to Owens, to around the back dish and bowman slam.

YB- Much to my surprise, it came across very well on tv. I thought overall, all things considered, the game atmosphere was well above average for a second or third roung NIT game. It was quite loud, and they kept the shots tight enough most of the night- and they also mentioned about 7 or 8 times that it was our practice gym - so no room for misunderstanding. Sounded more like Cameron Indoor than 80% empty MCI.

It sounded amazing on TV. I was at a sports bar and had them turn up my TV so I could hear the crowd. Very jealous of everyone there. This was the highlight of my week.
The theory still stands: When we play in McD we win.

There was a funny moment in the 2nd half, when Bowman(?) was shooting free throws. The crowd got so quiet that the play-by-play guy kind of tailed off in mid-sentence. He and Jarvis (analyst) joked about it.
Then, during the 2nd free throw, they both were silent.

anyone got any video from the game handy? ESPN? Comcast highlights?
That was soooo much fun.
How many people actually fit in that place, there was barely room to breathe on the students' side!
There were a dozen top 10 (and one NOT Top 10!!!) plays in that one! Go HOYAS!!

One difference from 1982: lighting. The '82 game, even though played in the early afternoon, seemed in a darker place, while the current lighting gave it a different feel, and the roof seemed a lot lower as a result. The gaps between the bleachers weren't as evident then, but tonight it looked like all the seats were temporary! Seriously, I hope this generation of Hoya fans can appreciate the moment. here's the AP recap: "A standing-room only crowd of 2,604 packed the gym, and their chants and roars tested the limits of decibel tolerance in a way never heard at MCI. Some great memories revive by the game in McD. Since we played ALL our home games there, these are the most obvious. But I first saw JTII play in McD in the KoC tournament, when he and George Leftwich were starring at Carroll.

Jeff's phantom fifth was just about the sweetest block ever!!! I love to see that fire in him.
The crowd and the atmosphere was phenomenal on TV. What a fun game to watch. It's time to start buying lottery tickets for the on campus arena!
p.s. TBird, what was your game time attire? I know I saw CA and 007. Were you near them? I've got to point you out to little nodak jr so you can be famous, too.

Yeah, I was near them. I usually go w/ the tshirt, jeans, and a 4 corners design for face paint (blue in upper left/lower right, gray in upper right/lower left--these being my left/right). Oh, and I keep my normal BROWN hair. No wigs for me. I think CA was pretty much directly behind me (I was in the first row, he was in the 2nd). Anyway, I'd just like to point out these stat lines: Ashanti: 9 pts 10 boards, 6 assists. Jeff: 18 pts, 2 boards (I swear he had more than that) and 6 Blocks. CSF FG% 28.8%. Just a great game. And one other question--did people see how the student section started doing the Dikembe finger wave after all the blocks? It looked pretty awesome from the student section. Hopefully something we can expand for next year.
