It's actually pretty easy to understand, if you think about it.
Personally, I don't want any part of this moronic thread on Page one during the BE and NCAA tournaments.
But the only thing I can do about that is not comment on i....D'OH!!

Were we ever close to getting Johnny O'Bryant? I know Kirby was recruiting him, but I don't remember if we were always a long shot, or if we had a legit shot at him. Short of Noel, that's a kid that would have been the best fit at a need position.

Re Semaj Christon:
I keep reading that he was never offered. Yet when I looked at Scout and Rivals recruiting database for 2012, both sites indicate that he WAS offered by Georgetown. Are Scout and Rivals both wrong???

To continue the topic:
Ennis has been one of the best freshmen so far this year, and has been the main reason why Cuse is undefeated and exceeded the expectation after the departure of MCW. IMO, he is probably the best true PG in the nation, playing better than Andrew Harrison or Marcus Smart.
We did offer him and we were on him for a while, but for some reason, it seemed like we just let him go... I know he was a bit more Cuse lean from the beginning coming from the NJ area, but I feel like if we had recognized his talent and addressed the need of PG, we could have pursued him more aggressively and possibly landed him...
Obviously he would not have started here over Markel, but he was a big fish that we simply missed out on.
Noah Vonleh has been okay - not as good as advertised, but he has been solid. Seemed to me that he is more of a 2 years collegiate player rather than 1, but most likely he will still be drafted in the first round even if he leaves after this year. Having him would have been nice, especially since Greg has been out.
And of course Josh Hart, which has been discussed in other threads....
Any1 else ?

Ennis is from Canada but played Hs ball in NJ... The staff tried but when push came to shove he wasn't interested, couldn't even get a visit from him if I'm remembering correctly.. Vonleh has been very good in my opinion, He's averaging 12 & 9 in the Big 10 playing mostly as IU's 5 man.. Vonleh would have been better off playing the 5 spot for G'town..

Mamadou Ndiaye is averaging 9,6 and 3blks not bad…. We tried to get involved with Ennis but it wasn’t happening. Obviously Josh Hart is the big one, but it was pointed out by Ron at HR, and reported at the time by him also that the staff did keep recruiting Hart after Domingo committed.. Fwiw
They did not show him enough love though obviously...

Ennis plays like a senior. In my limited time watching Cuse this year, he's been tremendous - far better than the out of control MCW. I hope he comes out.
Draft projections have Vonteh in the top 7, so he's likely one and done, ready or not.

Obviously Josh Hart is the big one, but it was pointed out by Ron at HR, and reported at the time by him also that the staff did keep recruiting Hart after Domingo committed.. Fwiw They did not show him enough love though obviously... The thing about Josh Hart is this: the staff did not expect that Domingo would falter at college level this much. Former USA U17 member that was ranked top 30 in the class playing 2/3 position, they would not think he was that needed, especially when we also have DSR playing 2 and seeing Ike/Peak, who were not committed to us at that time, likely to pop for us. Yes Josh is definitely talented and when Domingo has not played much for us and with Greg out + the lack of offensive games from Bowen and Jabril, not getting him seems like a big deal now. But I do understand why the staff did not aggressively pursue him to make him one of ours. Agree Ndiaye would help, but I also have second thought about his game. His offensive game is still very raw, and I dont know if he would have adjusted into our offense system well. Players like Moses who has been with us for four years still has not grasped our offense. Don't know if this kid would have gotten it either... I gusss Ennis was just a long shot, but then again, he was not a top 10 player that was sought by all the big time programs like Kentucky, Duke and UNC. IF it was simply a competition between us and SU, with just a bit more, I think we could have had turned that around.

I believe that Moses understands our system well. I don't believe that it matters what offense we run. Moses is just not a highly skilled offensive player.

He doesn't appear to be any taller than 6'8" and he seems to have short arms. I wouldn't touch him in the top 15 of this draft. He puts up numbers because Crean likes to play run and gun and IU doesn't have anybody else, but I'm not that impressed with him as a pro prospect. That said, I do think he will go after this year as he should - his stock will only go down the longer he stays.

Kennedy Meeks went for 15 pts, 9 rebounds, 2 asst, 1 blk, 1 to in 21 minutes on Monday.
Paschal Chukwu went for 15 pts, 12 rebounds, 7 blocks against Hillhouse.

Forgot about those two players, who were also our primary targets. He has more offensive game than Nate from what I have seen, but would he have started over him? Wonder how he would have played in our system. Not so high on Chukwu in our offense system, with the same reasoning behind Nidaye.
