Did we sign Martin Geben on the QT? Just wondering, since he dropped 45 spots. Copeland -16, Campbell ? (not rated). Devin Robinson jumped 65 spots up to 44.. I know there's only a few spots left for '14 but i hope the staff continues to look at Robinson.. P.S. - Tre was 140 up 8 spots

If I am reading this correctly - this recent NCAA waiver decision sounds somewhat similar to Josh Smith's situation. The fact that the NCAA denied this waiver could indicate that Smith 's waiver request would not be likely to be approved, leaving him with just one remaining season of eligibility. I am hoping that I am misinterpreting this decision and its possible implications for Smith! espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/85520/eight-minutes-too-much-for-ncaa

How about choice "D."? (" D. Although eligible through May 2015, Josh Smith leaves early for the NBA Draft after Spring 2014 semester.") It could happen and it would mean we had a great season.

This would be before the New year so he would have only played a half season this year going into deep 2014 draftclass… Gotta think that would be a mistake.

Chad Ford - who claims he bases his projections based on what he's told by NBA front office personnel - has had him either in the first round or on the cusp - like he is in his latest update - all season. Currently, he's projected as a late first-rounder and the 31st rated prospect in the entire draft. m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=10146233&src=desktopIn no way am I saying he'll be a great pro, but I highly doubt he'd transfer here or anywhere for that matter instead of entering the draft.

I was thinking about this and would love to get other recruiting followers' thoughts: how many of our 2014 and 2015 recruits would get playing time THIS SEASON if they were on the Georgetown team (at current skill level)? I think Paul White, Isaac Copeland, LJ Peak, and Marcus Derrickson would ALL get minutes this season if they were on the squad. LJ seems to already have a better shot than Jabril, Paul White could be a poor man's Otto in terms of letting the offense flow through him, Copeland would be the most athletic guy on the team and would definitely help with rebounding and D, and Marcus Derrickson has the outside game and rebounding chops to contribute more than Mikael.
What do you guys think?

On one hand, this is awesome in terms of our program's future, but on the other, it is sad in terms of the current depth we have on the team. Watching the Kansas game really drilled that home for me. Kansas has at least 5 guys more athletic than our most athletic guy. Excited to see that change and glad JT3 seems to be putting a higher premium on athleticism for the new recruits.

What do you guys think? I'd agree, I think any of those 4 could get significant minutes on the current team. This year's squad is weak at the 3/4 spots, and all of those guys could help there. In fact, I think on talent Copeland and Peak could be starters for us right now--although experience and chemistry reasons might slow that down, for a little while at least. But I think the main point of your hypothetical is to compare the talent level of the incoming guys to the talent level we have at present, and I think for the most part the guys we have coming in are better than the guys we have playing those same positions currently.
