Where will the committee put Murray State? They are 30-1. I think Wisconsin is ahead of Indiana as they are 2-0 against them. So that leaves us vs. Wisconsin. They made it to conf semis and lost to a top 10 team. We made it to the conference quarterfinals and lost to an unranked team. I think they have the edge for the 3 line and we will be the first 4 seed. In a perfect S-Curve world, is the weakest 3 seed with the weakest 1 seed and the strongest 2 seed? I would absolutely love to be in Duke's region if they win the ACC tournament and snag the last 1 seed though I suppose they could be the strongest 2 as well...depends on what happens with Mizzou and Ohio State.

If you go down our losses and their losses, I don't think it's really close. I guess Indiana and Wisconsin get credit for some home wins against the top of their division, but that's not really fair in the sense that they get to play them at home. I would have liked to play Syracuse at home. Didn't Wisconsin also lose to Marquette at home?

They are 30-1, but KenPom has them at 44 and their RPI is around 20.

They are a tough call since there isn't too much history, but I don't think any sites had them that high.
The committee chair is on CBS right now, and he said that they don't weight the conference tourneys any more than all games, which is good to hear for us.

Beat me to it..........I think Murray St will be a 3 seed. Based on what? They beat Memphis, St Mary's, and SMiss out of conference. They only lost one game all year with a big bulleyes on there back. And they avenged that lose in the conf. tourney........I think we are a more worthy team but that 30-1 is gonna be hard to ignor.............

San Diego State last year was 32-2 with wins against Gonzaga (#12 at the time), St Marys, Wichita St and Cal. Lost to BYU twice and beat them once. They were a #2 seed. I have to think that this Murray State team will be at least a 3. This means we will be a 4 seed with a matchup against either Kentucky, Kansas or UNC/Duke... if we make it that far. It all depends upon how we are playing. We could lose 1st round or beat any of these teams (besides Kentucky I think). again, I think you are making way too much of a few games. Murray State plays teams like tenn tech, tenn st, tenn Martin, tenn sister of the poor. They are not going to be a 3 seed. There is literally not one of the 50 sites that has them as a 3, but I will eat my words if they are. ;D

When SD State earned the 2 seed last year, they played in the 5th ranked conference by RPI (MWC).
This year, Murray State made their run through the Ohio Valley... ranked 21st by RPI out of 33 conferences. No comparison when you put their year up against what SDSU had to go through last year.
So no, they won't get a 3.

What impact does FSU winning have on our seeding? This may allow them to jump us.
On another note, how the hell do the refs let River push off on that defender? It was a full on shove with full extension. It is a joke they allowed him even to attempt a shot after that.

But, they have some really bad losses.

Florida St.: RPI: 16, SOS: 6, 4-5 vs. RPI top 50, 10-7 vs. RPI top 100, 2 bad losses outside Top 100 Georgetown: RPI: 14, SOS: 11, 7-5 vs. RPI top 50, 9-8 vs. RPI top 100, 0 bad losses outside Top 100
FSU does not jump us without a win tomorrow, even with a win today.

Murray St should be thankful with a 5 seed.
I'd be mildly surprised if the 1-4 seeds weren't taken by this grouping in some order:
Us
Kentucky Syracuse UNC Kansas Michigan St Ohio St Missouri Duke Baylor Marquette Michigan Wisconsin Indiana Florida St Louisville
I'm sure it won't break like that but right now I just think there seems to be a drop to the 5 line.

Copied from Earlier in the thread with the addition of Michigan, Marquette, Louisville and Florida State. These are the only teams competing for the 3 line. Everything besides RPI, SOS, Kenpom, and Sagarin includes todays results.

Michigan 23-9 RPI: 10 SOS: 15 Kenpom: 22 Sagarin: 20 Vs. Top 25 RPI: 5-5 Vs. top 50 RPI: 7-6 Vs. 51-100 RPI: 6-1 Vs. 100+ RPI: 10-2 Road Record: 5-6 Neutral Record: 2-1 Last 10: 7-3 Loss B10 Semi Finals

Only real difference is only Marquette and Georgetown have no losses to teams greater with an RPI over 100. I hope that will give us an inside track.
Rooting for Cinci to beat Louisville and then UNC to beat Florida State tomorrow.

Lowest of the low right there with Missouri fans chanting "SEC" in the final seconds of the Big 12 final. Can you imagine one of the BE traitors doing something similar in the BET final tonight? A riot might have ensued.

I can't imagine that the selection committee would match us up against any of them first round.
