I've never made it to MSG for a BET and really had hoped to go this year, but work is taking me to Texas instead. Safe travels. Edited. Let's leave the smack talk off-board. --Admin

I am now dying to know what Cam actually said.
I'll bet it was pretty damn good to warrant the red pen.

Man, this game makes me nervous. Syracuse is, on paper, the better team and I have the sneaking suspicion we have been playing over our heads. Still, I have no doubt that this team can beat anyone if it's firing on all cylinders. And unlike years past, we have a tough defense that can let us keep it close when the shots aren't falling.
I expect Hollywood to show up big in the big stage, and I'm sure the freshmen will find their first (possibly last?) foray into the carrier dome to be a memorable experience.

You should get used to being a second class citizen now, since you'll always be considered a second class program in the ACC. I'm confused - how do they get a two class up-grade?

A couple of things are important: play together and play as hard as you can. Good luck, Hoyas.

Why will Syracuse's length negate our length. Won't it work the other way around as well?

The ESPN ticker is running a statistic that says the Hoyas have the highest FG% against zone defenses of Big East teams. Let's hope we brought that shooting with us to Central New York.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but do we have confirmation as to who will be announcing the game tomorrow?
Odds are overwhelming we'll get stuck with McDonough, obviously. I just hope Leo Rautins isn't in the stands.

Musberger and Knight will be announcing. Thanks, NBITYYR. That's an interesting assignment. I can't remember the last time Musburger called a Hoyas game.

They are combining their #1 and #2 analysts on the Duke-Carolina game with Bilas and Vitale. Dan Shulman gets the PBP nod over McDonough. We get the #3 crew.

It's odd that McDonough isn't doing this game. Almost like they finally realized he shouldn't be doing any Gtown-Syracuse games. You could say that he normally doesn't do Wednesday night, but either do Knight and Musburger, and those two almost never do Big East games. Im not complaining....

Makes sense considering the Gtown-Syracuse game has been an afterthought in all the promotions. I suppose ESPN thinks that only one game in college basketball really matters each season. Of course they are partially responsible for the hype that goes along with the Duke-UNC matchup. Anyway having Musburger for a big Syracuse/Georgetown game seems like old times.

I'd forgotten that Musburger and Packer used to call those great last Sunday of the regular season Gtown/Cuse games in the 80s. "Mighty Georgetown" is up there with "You are looking live" as great Musburger turns of phrase

Plus Knight is currently the best color guy in the stable, IMHO.

Forget why....but in '84 Musburger I believe was forced to apoligize on air regarding something he said about the Hoyas. In fact, the crowd at a FF game starting chanting something to that affect....does anyone remember what this was about?

In fact, the crowd at a FF game starting chanting something to that affect....does anyone remember what this was about? In the 1984 regional final broadcast vs. Dayton (maybe it was UNLV earlier, but i think it was Dayton), Musberger said Michael Graham should have been ejected in the game and he was emblematic of what Georgetown does wrong with basketball. Billy Packer called Brent out on it and said Graham was not at fault in the game. (He wasn't.) After Graham's civil but effective game vs. Kentucky, those of us packed away in the first base dugout area of the Kingdome (but in front of the CBS post-game broadcast table) began yelling "Say You're Sorry!" (He did, perhaps knowing a short distance from fans would prevail.) There's also a photo out there of Musberger holding up a blue "Hoya Paranoia" t-shirt after the game.
