We are playing with confidence so i have high hopes. Two areas of concern: we might need Markel's scoring but he can't defend quick guards; and I fear lots of interior points against us a la Pitt - I don't think we've solved that issue.

This is it. Biggest game of the regular season, biggest rival, good vs. evil, student athletes vs. pros in training, coaches vs 50 year friends of child molesters, #1 BE v. #3, and a lot more. BEAT SUcks!!!

#847,561 - Fab Melo's Sharia-like approach to male-female relations. #847,562 - Fab Melo's "academic issues."

Well, I think this team is built the best to beat Syracuse's zone of any Georgetown teams of the past few years. We have a few guys who are good outside threats and a bunch of guys that can hit the midrange jumper/foul line jumper consitently. We have great length which has really plagued us in the past and neutralizes Syracuse's advantage over most teams. Defensively Syracuse is pretty weak when they are forced to play a half court game, so slowing the game down would be to our advantage here. We are really playing with house money in this game so hopefully our guys come out loose and keep building he confidence they've been building.

Limit the turnovers and get back on defense - actually, sprint back on defense.

I like that the Hoyas have no pressure in this game. They should play loose and try to get one against our rival. I am excited to see if we can carry over the offensive efficiency against the zone. Our own zone may cause some issues for those bums up north.

First off all our length is what makes our zone strong and Syracuse's length would neutralize that advantage. Secondly the are too well schooled in how to recognize a zone's weakness' and beat it. I think our switching man defense(which is very 3-2 match-up zone like) would be more effective.

Possible good omen---last year at Dome--Hollis and Markel were Hoyas best perimeter shooters and it was arguably Markel's best game in BE play last year.

student athletes vs. pros in training I, mean, I guess you can call Cuse players "pros in training", but is sending their players to horrible Eastern European leagues really something worth bragging about?

As much as I'd like to go with the "play fast and loose we've got nothing to lose" mantra, I think this is the type of game in which slow, methodical offensive sets that generate quality shots late in the shot clock are our best chance for victory. Keep the game in the 50s. We do not want to get in a run and gun match with these guys on the road. We should be very focused to sprint back on defense and hand Syracuse a steady diet of our own version of the 2/3 zone (Jabril/Clark/Hollis/Otto/Henry) and make them beat us from deep.
Few objective observers will predict the Hoyas to win, so it is true that this is kind of a house money game. But if we were going to save an efficient, slow down performance, this is the game.
But our offense kind of stinks, right? Henry can't convert down low. Big problem. And too many turnovers. Hopefully we save a good one for Wednesday.

Cuse's offense is average in the half court, but they finish in transitions. If we turn the ball over, we will lose.

BEAT SUcks!!! Tha'ts #1 BE v. #2 BE. Technically tied for 2nd with Marquette but we currently own the tie breaker so for me we're all alone in 2nd place. #1 vs. #2. If we can win this game we have a legitimate shot at winning the conference. Cuse still has a number of tough games left with two against Louisville and Uconn left. It's all about limiting turnovers. We can defend them in the half court. We just have to keep them out of transition. Let's do this boys!

Syracuse looked disjointed against WVa's zone last week, we have the length to bother their inconsistent outside shooters. We need to move the ball quickly on offense, their zone squeezes tight when you are too methodical. If Henry can hit a few jumpers from 10-12 feet, we can absolutely win this game. Move the ball, move the zone, win the game. Hoya Saxa.

Boeheim will pass Dean Smith for #3 on the all-time list with his next win. Just like we spoiled the party when they named Boeheim Court, let's ruin any thoughts of the home crowd celebrating Wednesday. Hoya Saxa.
