Since you guys decided to leave the conference, it kind of kills whatever rivalry we had built together. Losers.

Dickie V is in love with duke / UNC. Its reality. It upsets a lot on here - but whatever.
I agree with Cusefaninvt - lets have some fun...
Jim B saying "don't judge me" and attacking some poor no name local reporter for no reason.
Cuse fans staying classy throwing bottles at the 30 g town fans.
Coleman - nice wiff.

I clicked on one of those and found this. Love the foreign relations. Then there is this classic. fanphooey.com/blog/1075Rivalries do get intense, right?

Yeah, not loving the match up in this game for a couple of reasons.
1. Henry has to absolutely play like he did in the 2nd half of UConn, but I'm not sure he'll do that from the tip. Against Drummond, he was initially so worried about blocks that he was fading away on everything. Melo presents that same problem, except because of the zone, Henry can't put it on the deck as easily to attack. Foul trouble on Melo would be huge because I think Henry would have the advantage on Keita or Christmas.
2. Turnovers. We turn the ball over tomorrow and we're toast. Simple as that. Need to have 12 or fewer for the course of the game, or we're going to give up too many easy buckets to get back in the game.
3. Size. Cuse is one of the few teams in the country that can match our size on the wings. That negates a huge advantage of ours.
4. The road. I know we won there last year, but that was with an upperclassmen dependent team. This is going to be the first (and who knows, last?) game for all of our freshmen, and I can't say that anyone but Jason has a ton of experience playing up there. I'd feel better about this if we were at home.
I'd love to send these clowns out of the Big East with a loss. As much as we all hate them (and boy do we hate them), it was nice to have one of the premiere rivalries in the country be an in conference rivalry (although I can't really remember the last time we were both vying for the Big East title at the same time before this year--it's been ages). I haven't made up my mind on whether I want the thing to continue, but if they want their football team which hasn't been good since McNabb left to call the shots, then I hope we end it with a win. Cuse can enjoy their new rivalries against Clemson and Virginia.

Should be a great game, and I like our chances at the upset if we can get our offense in gear. If we're hitting shots, look out.
That said, and assuming this will end up being the last season for the Cuse in our conference, I'm hoping this isn't the only time we meet them: anyone with an appreciation for the history of the conference will be rooting for a Georgetown-Syracuse final on Saturday night at MSG in March. It really has to end that way, doesn't it?

I would really love for Georgetown and Syracuse to get the 1 and 2 seeds for the tournament, which would set up the potential for a Georgetown-Syracuse Big East tournament final. Defeating them in the tournament would be a very appropriate way to end the current Big East era.

On another note, I am not sure we should play them after they leave the conference. Reading the article on Kansas/Missouri, I agree with the general sentiment. Let's start our OOC games with teams like Xavier, Kansas, Gonzaga, Temple.....and other teams that could be left in the cold during the next round of musical chairs so we have some built in new rivalries to build on.

Our motivation, besides 'Cuse being backstabbing ACC Lauri Fine losers, is all about the 2 seed potential and jumping Duke,UNC, Mich St, Kansas.
Keys to the game: - Hollis and Clark give a gritty 30 pts outplaying 'Cuses top 3 guards, who average about 30 btw them. - Greg and Otto continue to progress as impact freshman. Otto as the zone buster catching backdoor passes and showing off mid-range game. Greg shuts down one of 'Cuse's key bench players and adds a couple big shots. - Hank is aggressive early and gets Fab into foul trouble. After getting blocked a couple times which leads some easy Cuse points but also put Fab on the bench -We limit turnovers/Easy points for Cuse - Big 3's from Jason/Hollis down the stretch earn us the win

Our motivation, besides 'Cuse being backstabbing ACC Lauri Fine losers..... Nope, just stop right there. Our motivation is beating SUcks. That's it. Period. End of line. There is no other motivation. For the reason you mention here and about 1M others. (And don't just take my word for it. I can guarantee that JTIII is preaching the same gospel this week....though he may or may not be calling them "SUcks.") I do, however, agree with many of your keys to the game.

Syracuse and Pitt aren't on the ACC schedule for football this autumn, and the scheduling that the ACC announced on Friday is designed to accommodate a 12- or 14-team basketball league for 2012-2013.
I wouldn't be surprised if we are playing both these teams next year, and I would assume there'd be more than a little conference/network interest in having Syracuse end their last regular season in the Big East with a road game at the Verizon Center.
Which would be a Gray-Out of course.

By the way, speaking of rivalries.... Anyone listen to Mike and Mike this morning when they spoke to Dickie V? Didn't hear one reference to this game tomorrow night, but on and on about Duke and UNC. I know that bothers me and the rest of my orange wearing kind, but does it annoy you all as well? I'd say we have an interesting little rivalry. You should get used to being a second class citizen now, since you'll always be considered a second class program in the ACC.

I know this is a broken record but it is totally, 100 pct about turnovers and getting back on transition D. Even if we have an average shooting night, we can take this down to the wire and win if we limit turnovers and prevent the run-outs on missed shots.
It was kinda like how we ended up beating UConn at VC when Austin was unconscious in the 2nd half. We limited Dyson and others running the fast break and made them play half-court offense.

I think its insane how this isn't getting played up more as possibly the last time we will play eachother in a long long time.
Fact of the matter is Syracuse is more likely to not agree on a multi-year home/away with Georgetown because playing Gtown on the road doesn't mesh with their greedy agenda.
