Really proud of this team. At the beginning of the season, the expectations of this team were not to be 18-5 at this point and push a team like SU to OT. Credit to JTIII and the players. After watching this game I feel this team can compete with anybody and make a deep run in the NCAAs.

i am sorry but henry cost us this game. i agree he got bumped and should have gone to the line a couple times at the end but he was beyond terrible all game. he and hopkins were a combined 2-18 and that is inexcusable. the hoyas handed those bunch of scrubs this game. I agree Henry has to finish something, even if he does get fouled. You are not going to get those calls on the road. Are we really surprised, henry has had that problem all season. He is not a finisher. I am not too disappointed in Hopkins. I would expect a little trouble at the rim against Melo from him. What I do take heart in is Hopkins ability to move within the offense so well and put himself in position to finish. The next 3 years are going to fun with this group.

The end of an era. The Dome is officially closed to the Hoyas. Now we can think about winning championships rather than just beating Syracuse,.... Go Hoyas!!!

Agree that Whit and Hopkins are talents but they hurt on offense at this point in their careers. And who was Whiy checking on the final,Joseph 3?

Very, very similar to the WVU-Cuse game. Interesting.

I think III was riding the bigger lineup and then brought Jabril in for defensive purposes. It was working, I think we honestly played a great game. Came up short.

My only hope after watching this game is we put forth that effort every game from now until the end of the season.

Fellow Hoyas, stop whining about the refs. That's what losers do. We played well tonight and almost won. thanks for the advice, mr. winner

greg lost joseph on defense a couple of times and it ended up killing us. you can't let the one guy on their team that was making shots beat you.

I mentioned it before, but are we not allowed to alley oop? I've never seen a team so reluctant. On 2 on 1s, we seem very hestistsnt to make the pass. It sounds petty but look at how many points teams like Syracuse score on dunks. I wish we would work at least something in to loosen up defense. I would also settle for us just dunking the ball...

If they call the blocking foul on Melo instead of the bull charge, Hollis would have shot two free throws up two. If he gives us a two possession lead the last two minutes are completely different.

On that play, Hollis made the lay-up, we might have been up 3 after that.

Greg Got lost on the last shot. Just replayed the game. Otto called for a switch and Greg didn't pay attention or he didn't heart. Totally lost Joseph on the last play. Our fresh need to understand one mistake can cost you the game. Must be mentally focus all the time.

Far as officiating goes, I thought the first 2 minutes on the 2nd half we're as crucial as any. block call on Henry (that certainly looked like he draw a charge) and then saying he was fouled on the floor.
Proud of the team. They will be better for this.

Hate to say it, but Hank just didn't play like a man out there tonight. It seemed like everytime he got a chance under the basket, he knew he was going to get swatted away embarrassingly. So his attempts looked half-hearted. I thought Mikael's play was encouraging. Sure, he missed some gimmes, but it was nice to see him in the middle of the zone asking for the ball and then getting to the basket. He's only a freshman. Those shots will fall. I just wish that they had tonight.
Jason launching from about 7 feet past the three point line twice were some of the best "NONONONONOOOO....YESSSSS!!!" moments I've ever had. Hollis disappeared again, which is a recurring theme though the refs literally made him disappear for the final possession. Hats off to Greg, Otto, and Jabril for showing no fear against the zone in a hostile environment.

I am glad to see a lot of optimistic posts in spite of the very frustrating game that we could have won.
I did not expect us to win @ Syracuse - not because its an away game, but b/c we lack of a star player. Joseph, right now, is playing the leader role very well, kinda like how Jeff Green was in 2007. We are hoping that Otto can turn into that type of player in a year or two. Hollis Thompson was supposed to be that guy carrying us, but he disappeared in this game (kinda like Brandon Bowman Ver. 2 - hot or cold style)
Every winning team has to have a star player to win that title. On the bright side, the nation has just recognized how good are freshmen are and they will be watching for them in the upcoming years. Definitely the best frosh class since Green/hibbert's class

Echo other sentiments about being proud of the team. We didn't play near our best and failed again on a lot of offensive ossessions but we went toe to toe with the supposed second-ranked team in the country. Btw, uk would destroy these clowns.
I f Henry hadn't played like a DIII center tonight we win.
Three things are guaranteed in every Hoyas game:
1) opponent will have an alley-oop
2) we will have a turnover on an inbounds play
3) we will look woefully unprepared coming out of a timeout.
This last one really bothers me. Also, it's become a joke how our big men don't try to dunk the ball (whitt's valiant attempt aside). Henry has a much better chance of getting a whistle if he goes up strong. It is really, really frustrating.
Other than that, great experience. WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!

The only fault I will put on the coaches tonight was not getting Hollis on the court for the final possession. Really, how can you say anything else was wrong tonight with the coaching? I felt like III was pressing all the right buttons. If Henry makes a few around the rim this game really would not have been close. The big line-up held cuse well below their average in points and FG%.

I'm not sure that everyone shined. I think Otto played well. Clark had onions as usual. Hollis played pretty well, but cant do much on his own (we knew that). Whit and Trawick played about average.
Starks played terribly - jacked up tons of awful 3s and had some bad passes. Thats why we sat him. Sims "disappeared" in the second half because he was on the bench with 3 and then 4 fouls. If he was able to draw more fouls, his stat line would be more like 1-5 from the field instead of 1-11. He doesnt make too many shots when he gets fouled - very few 3pt plays.
When you boil it down, we played an about average game. With even officiating we would have won. Lets hope that this game doesnt turn our season into 2008-2009 after losing an 8 on 5 away game (that year Duke).
