I know we are going to have 50 posts about the refs, but let's be honest - Henry Sims and Hollis Thompson lost this game. 2 of our upperclassmen did not bother to come out of the locker room for the second half or OT. Henry was b**ch slapped by Melo and Syracuse all night, and Hollis was absolutely invisible. We had this game if either one played his C game. Very, very disappointing. Henry got fouled every time he had the ball with no calls.

I'm not going to shed a tear if we never go to that godawful place again. That was absurd.

We are the better team, no doubt in anyone's mind. Neutral court we win by 10. We exposed them as one of the worst rebounding teams in the big east. We totally got homered by the refs, but you have to expect it on the road. The Hoyas played awesome tonight, DO NOT let this derail us. The guys proved to me they are a big time team and our youth will only get better. I like what we have going on right now on the Hoyas.

WHY DID WE GO AWAY FROM ZONE DEFENSE in OT? WHY?
They didn't a score a FG for 5 straight minutes and then we go to man and they get a bucket everytime.

Proud of the guys tonight. They faced a lot of adversity and the team played great, particularly the freshmen. Couldn't be prouder of our guys. We played well enough to win and on a neutral court would have come out ahead. That's what matters in March.

Simms had his worst game and continues to play poorly on offense within 5 feet of the basket. JT III should have been giving Hopkins more time this year. We all knew that he would eventually be needed. Hollis continues to play inconsistently. Sad ending to a very hard fought game. No moral victories though because there was no excuse to lose this game.

we need a guy like fab melo. Georgetown doesn't have a paleontology department. Why would we want to study an australopithecus? Not to mention a woman beater who can't pass finger painting.

If Cuse is the #2 team in the country, we are DAMN good. This game got stolen. WTF, how can a guy not check in, when his OWN team calls a timeout??

Really impressed with the team. Great heart and more than that, confidence. This team believes . I'll say it again bc my earlier post got deleted, but Sims picked a bad night to play one of his worst games of the year. Way too many misses inside and on our second to last possession had a wide open Hollis in front of the Hoya bench for the three and threw it up a miss against three guys instead. Hey, everybody has bad nights, and tonight it was Hank.

Henry definitely was fouled on his last touch. Melo did hold his ground but he grabbed Henry's arm as he shot the ball, clear foul, has to be called, period. Again, no one comes away from this game not thinking Georgetown is clearly a better team than Cuse. They have Joseph, they have Melo who magically never committed a foul after getting 3 very quickly.

hollis not getting in clearly on the staff or Hollis. Either he knows to send him to the table before they huddle or they decided to late to put him in and hollis didn't get to the scorer. once the second horn goes he's shut out.

Otto lost Joseph on that last play, not Whittington. That being said, Otto had one of the best offensive games he's had this year.
And yeah not sure why we didnt go zone. Its easier for Joseph to get open on the drive and dish against man to man.

Unbelievable. Not letting Hollis in that game was terrible, but I agree that Sims' missed layups really did us in.
This team showed more heart in this loss than I have seen in many of their wins. This team can, and should, build on this game to realize they can beat ANYONE in the country when they are firing on all cylinders. Now it's time to buckle down, lock up a double bye in the BET, and make a run.

I for one am happy that Georgetown will never have to play a game in that despicable arena again. When the officiating is as one sided and patently obvious as this was, it destroys the game for everybody. Syracuse can have no pride and the game was nota genuine test of who played better.

Still a good effort -- the loss will be a good motivator for the home stretch, and the frosh held their own except for some defensive lapses at the end. But Henry is still an extremely raw offensive player, Markel is a shot-first point guard who doesn't hit shots, and they don't have enough ballhandlers who can create shots for others -- the offense stagnates in a hurry if the backdoor stuff isn't there.

Very impressive effort overall and while it was a loss, it's definitely something to build on for the rest of the season.
Sims' disappearance in the 2nd half was concerning, however, and while Hopkins could not seem to finish anything tonight, I was very impressed with his footwork and quickness.

Ok just finished watching the game:
1. We got totally jobbed by the ref's. How many times did Herny get fouled??!! Aweful!
2. Did markel foul out? Why were we playing without our starting PG??!! I know Whit is good but really??
3. Joseph just lights out, SU needed him to have his best game to beat us.
4. Henry stunk on O tonight. Can he ever finish? Yeah he was hacked alot but really finish bro.
5. Otto is awesome, this team has a ton of heart and played well ina tough enviornment. Really should have won tonight.
