Yeesh. Missing the entire season sucks, but thank goodness they caught it this way and are able to treat it.
Best wishes to Jeff.

Best wishes and prayers go out to Jeff. There may be a silver lining here...
1. Jeff, if he hasn't already done so, can finish up school or pursue some kind of masters or certificate program at gtown.
2. He will be around the team a lot more and can help coach them up like he did over the summer!
Oh and as a medical professional, Jeff is very fortunate that they caught this in his physical. If it were to have ruptured there is a very good chance he wouldn't have made it. In it's early stages, an aortic aneurysm is quite treatable with surgery and he should make a full recovery!

If he wasn't an NBA player, or maybe if he was a member of a team that didn't have Reggie Lewis die, this may have gone undetected, and could have been fatal. Ruptured aortic anuerysms are very bad.

According to Ric Bucher, the Celtics plan on keeping Jeff around the team as much as possible as he is definitely in their future plans. Good to hear.

My prayers for Jeff and his family. As others have said, your health is so much more important than basketball and the condition is one that can be repaired. All Hoyas are in your corner and will look forward to your getting your degree, helping to mentor our young Hoyas and your resuming your Celtics career.

Thoughts and prayers out to you, Jeff, my all-time favorite Hoya. Here's to a successful surgery, and to coming back stronger and better than ever.
If we found out anything about Jeff's heart during his three amazing years with the Hoyas, we know that it will persevere.

It is small consolation but things like this tend to put everything in perspective. Good luck, Jeff, you have everyone here praying for you.
