For completeness, the $3 M is just for the design of the facility. Construction will cost $30 M. More in line with what Duke spent on theirs. And I wish it was a "fight" for practice time between the VB team and the BB teams. That ain't a fair fight at any D1 school. BB dictates and VB says "yes sir/mam". Not to say that GU doesn't desperately need a practice facility. They do. But not because they have to fight with the VB team for practice time.  |

add UConn Basketball to the list.. $3M practice facility approved by University: "It is near criminal that two of the most successful basketball programs in the nation have to fight for practice time with the volleyball team. A dedicated basketball facility where the teams can practice, study, eat, or just hang out is a vital part of the recruiting battle." Somehow, of the thousands of near-criminal things going on with respect to UConn athletics, I don't think that's one of them... |
