This is the worst Final 4 I can remember. No lottery picks. No future lottery picks. None of the best 5 or 6 teams in the country.

I'd like to see either Duke or WVA win it all.
Duke just has mental toughness, man. They beat the teams that were in front of them. Unlike some teams we all know well.
Huggins really has his guys playing hard too.
i don't know. it will be interesting to see what happens.

Butler would be a great story. For those who say there is no pro talent in the FF, I am not so sure Hayward is not a lottery pick after next season. He is young and just scratching the surface physically.
I am going pull for WVU since they are BE and are made up off all NYC metro players, but Tom Izzo should get COY for what he has accomplished this March. How did he get this team to the FF? And in retrospect, he has made 6 of the last 12 final fours without real overwhelming talent. That is a GREAT coach.

Izzo is the Bill Walsh of college bball. He has a system built on toughness. JTIII needs to visit him and sit at his feet and learn from him. JTIII is a good coach but toughness is an issue.

Bill Walsh? Toughness? His teams weren't the most physical bunch. They are actually more finesse. I think Parcellls is the better analogy. His teams were physical and tough, like Izzo's. Izzo's style is like III's Dad from a the physical and rebounding aspect. but III has his own style. I would say III is more like Bill Walsh than Izzo is. III's better team's here were mentally tough, yet not the most physical like Walsh's 49er teams. III's current group needs to get mentally tough.

Instead of your idiotic posts infecting every thread on here, why don't you make a list of: 1. every coach that JT3 needs to visit/copy/emulate/do a Jennifer Jason Leigh-Single White Female; 2. every offensive or defensive system we need to adopt; 3. all players we should have immediately transfer from other programs to play at Georgetown; 4. all the stupid names you use when speaking in third person (bronx, bronxie, Gary Williams-sweat-catcher). That way we can get your drivel out in one fell swoop, instead of slowly oozing out day after day.

Bill Walsh did not win through toughness. I am talking about a system that works no matter what.
However you might not think Walsh was tough but he was a excellent amateur boxer.
K.C....why the obsession with Bronxie? deleted? If so I apologize.

The job Izzo has done in the last 12 years is pretty amazing. It seems like every year we talk about how weak the Big 10 is, and yet they are as tough as any team come tournament time. They did have some luck in the draw, but getting to the Final Four after losing their best player in the second round is very impressive. He really gets the best out of his players year in and year out.
As long as Duke doesn't win, I'll be happy....

I'm rooting for Butler. I'll almost always go for one of the "basketball" schools over the others. I think they don't have a great shot, and think they've had some better teams the past few years that disappointed in the tourney, but this year anything can happen. There were no superpowers, as seen by the supposed "locks" who didn't make it to the Final Four.

1. West Virginia
2. Butler
3. Michigan State
4. Vacated.
As I stated elsewhere, Izzo is the best coach in college basketball. At least he's the best at preparing his team for the Dance.
Come on, West Virginia. Take care of business on Saturday.

The only Final Four discussion going on at Georgetown should be contained in a little meeting called by the coach or team leaders if we really have any, to simply discuss the fact that there are two teams in Indianapolis that you beat and one who you should have beaten. What happened?Wwhats gone wrong? and how its going to be fixed going forward. If this discussion has not taken place at some level something is seriously wrong.

ABD.
Wouldn't mind any of the other three - Big East/Great story/Love Izzo.
Not sure Maryland was that weak of a national champion in '02 though - got waxed a couple of times on the road, but only lost 4-5 games that year, and had Dixon/Mouton/Baxter/Wilcox/Blake - even that kid Nicholas contributed that year if I recall correctly...agree that the Nat'l Championship game was kind of a stinker, but they did beat some quality teams on the way there

They were suitably strong relative to competition. So this year's may be weaker.

My question is - when is the last time none of the Final 4 participants had been ranked higher than third (AP) at point during the season? I know the AP poll isn't perfect, but this is pretty unusual, I would think. In 06, the highest Florida ever got was no. 2 and none of the other participants cracked that level. Most years the preseason no. 1 or 2 makes the Final Four, in fact. This site is pretty cool: statsheet.com/mcb/rankings/motion/AP?season=2009-2010&=Go

Recall that Mazulla torched Duke in the Phone Booth 2 years ago (I think that year is right). Probably not lost on Coach K at this point.

Recall that Mazulla torched Duke in the Phone Booth 2 years ago (I think that year is right). Probably not lost on Coach K at this point. And Joe Alexander swatted Kyle Singer's shots into the student section, all while cursing him off at the same time. A close up of his expletives got a rousing ovation from the WV/Big East crowd. As much as I dislike Duke, they execute their "style of play" well (i.e. shoot 3s, flop, "pressure defense"). But so does West Virginia, and their style is far more respectable. It should be a close one, but I hope WVU at the very least dominates what we know they can do consistently...defense, rebounding, and hustle plays. ABD.
